So...

I was going through some of the forum messages the other day as, trust me, I and everyone else on CM does often.  There are two numbers important to us on Thursday morning - the Nielson ratings and your votes on rating the eps.  Anyway, I was doing my thing, eavesdropping on your forums, and I saw a post in the 'Ask Writer Jim' thread (I think) that went something like, "I can't believe someone from the show would actually take the time to answer our questions."  That made me sit straight up in my chair.  What?  That's incredibly backwards. 

It is I, and the other writer/producers of Criminal Minds, who can't believe all of you take the time to not only watch our show but to have passionate, thoughtful debate/discussion about the episodes, storylines and characters.  We are honored by your dedication and support.  In fact, I would have logged and blogged sooner but I was kind of afraid if you knew we were watching/reading, you might feel the need to edit yourselves. 

So, let's make a deal here.  If you all promise to keep posting exactly the way you always have, without fear of offending me or anyone else on the show (I have far more respect for the honest opinions of a fan of the show than I do any television critic), I'll promise to come in as often as I can and answer your questions directly.  I'll also post a blog every now and then and let you know if anything's going on.  No question is too small and I'll only come in when I have time so don't worry about bothering me.  Some things I might not want to answer if I think it'll change your viewing experience (spoilers and such), but other than that, sky's the limit. 

Assuming we have an agreement, please call me Ed or EddyB , I'm the Executive Producer of Criminal Minds, and I can't wait to hear from you.
