I wouldn't say I am a reality show junkie but I do watch Survivor and America's Next Top Model religiously. I tune in to American Idol but I wouldn't say I HAVE to see it.
Anyway, the finales are coming up soon. Here are my picks:
Survivor: TERRY! I've been a fan of Terry's all the way and he has dominated this game. For him to still be here when he was outnumbered 6 to 1 is amazing. I will say that Cirie and Aras have played a pretty good game and they have gotten LUCKY several times. I won't mind if Cirie or Aras wins but Danielle DEFINITELY does not deserve to win. Here's hoping she goes home first on Sunday.
America's Next Top Model: My favorite has been Joanie from the start. She's sweet, funny, and she takes awesome photos. I am also a huge fan of Danielle's so I would be pleased if she won. I'm hoping that Jade's ego/attitude gets the best of her and she goes home! I can't stand when she opens her mouth!
American Idol: Well Chris was my pick and it's pretty crazy that he's gone now. I like Elliott and Taylor but let's face it, Catherine should be long gone.Â

Ode to Lem

Lem was sweet
And showed lots of class
Too bad for him
His friend was an A$$
Why, oh, why
Did it have to be Lem?
It should've been Shane
Everyone hates him

I'd like to take a moment to remember the beloved Curtis Lemanski. Lem was kind-hearted, caring, and loyal to the end. RIP LEM.

Aceveda: You're having too much fun with this. Mackey: Well, inside I'm a sad clown. Dutch: It's okay, Dutch-Man has a plan. Murder suspect: And you a crazy b*tch cause I didn't kill nobody. Claudette: One crazy b*tch to another. Kavanaugh: You got that tingling feeling like I do? (to Aceveda) Billings: Now uncuff my men, you idiots have done enough damage for one night. Dutch:"Maybe his dying wish was to be dry clean only." Shane: He's chatting up your ex? Vic: (to Shane) Better than Mara. (to Ronnie) And you tell whatever you're f*cking this week not to talk to strangers. Shane: The list is in a safe, in the Captain's office, in a POLICE STATION. Vic: Let's remember where this Armenian money's coming from. Drugs,prostitution,robberies-they didn't earn it. I don't mind taking it. Ronnie: So...Armadillo saying 'You're greenlit'...is that like you in a plural sense or you in a singular sense?? No...it's just I was on the porch the whole time. I mean, he didn't really see me. Vic: I was doing a little channel surfing up in observation... I didn't know we had Spice Network... Shane: I didn't get my a$$ kicked, I got sucker-punched. Shane: She's not a stripper, she's a dancer. Jojo Rizal to Shane: Your cock's out... Vic: Bad Cop and Good Cop left for the day... I'm a different kind of cop... Tina: Then he asked if he could smell my sweet spot. Vic: Even Shane stopped using that line. Suspect: I don't know, I just call him A$$-suck. Shane: If I'm a c*ck sucker Ronnie: What do you mean "if"? Dutch: Rigor or no rigor.. that's a serious rack. Danny: Her Majesty Billings needs to see you. Shane: I wouldn't expect any clemency.. Not with the Terminator as Governor. Dutch: I know a shotgun to the genitals always brings me to MY happy place. Rawlings: I bet you're feeling like a real bad dad for missing out on the wonder years. I mean just think.. if you weren't away doing time, maybe Junior wouldn't be in the pokey doing dick. Vic: Heard you and Mara had the baby. Shane: Yeah, yeah. Three weeks ago. Named him Jackson. Vic: As in Michael?? Vic: Sir, I'm telling you.. The kid had no choice. The dog was reaching. It was kill or be killed. Rawlings: Oh, c'mon Roy.. the dog had a piece.. he was gonna use it. Claudette: Should I be worried about you? Dutch: Not about me. Maybe about the rest of humanity, bunch of sociopathic little narcissists out for ourselves. Begging, stealing, lying, screwing, raping, killing our babies. Whatever it takes to have a good time and save our own asses. I can't even believe in an old woman who's too sick to feed herself, and it's not sad, it's not some big surprise. It's just nature. We're animals.. nothing more. And y'know what?? I'm learning to be ok with that. Vic: I'm oozing gentle. Ronnie (after Lem was interrogated all night and left to protect them from the wire): Is he gonna get paid for today? Ronnie: Who hit me? Vic Jesus Christ? Ronnie (after Vic knocks over Dutch's cup): Not your most ingenious prank. Vic: Yeah but it felt good. Dutch: You are the best cop I've ever worked with. Claudette: Thank you Dutch: No one else even came close to keeping up with me. Aceveda: You want to let a murderer go free so his mob boss can kill him? Shane: It sounded a lot better the way Vic explained it... Vic: The Armenians, speak Armenian. Armenian: Oh sh!t. Vic: That's Armenian for "Oh, sh!t." Vic: Just attack it...like you're hungry...like the wolf. Antwon: And why would I want to come with you? Vic (in mocking voice): Cuz you ain't fightin the power no mo. Dutch: What is she doing? Claudette: Standing on her soap box. Dutch: Does she have her own? Or did you let her borrow yours?

The Shield forum has had some "issues" lately with new people coming in and well...completely pissing off the regulars. Here are the rules I propose: 1. Do not use "cuz" or King will beat you. 2. Do not use "OMG" or Donuts will beat you. 3. Do some research-if you have only seen one episode, don't post something like "I think Lem will poison Kavanaugh." We all know Lem would never do such a thing. 4. Spell the characters names right: KAVANAUGH (with a K) and VIC (with a C). 5. Do not diss Lem...ever.
Trying to figure this out...
by *donutsfordinner on Comments
Sometimes TV.COM is so confusing. So I am trying to figure out how to add a quote and I don't get the instructions. I'm going to experiment on my blog...don't mind me. :) Here's what they say...now what the heck does it mean? Quotes are specific dialogue between characters. Quotes submitted should always be specific to the episode, not the show, and should be formatted as follows: < strong >Person A< /strong >: Person A dialogue. < strong >Person B< /strong >: Person B dialogue. Please note the spacing between the two lines. Do not use < p > or < br > tags. HUH? EDIT: I think I got it...this is for future reference for myself. :) Billings: I am stupid. Wow look what else I learned: [color=orange]color[/color] and [size=10]size[/size]
The Shield Season 5 (my review)
by *donutsfordinner on Comments
The Shield is an exceptionally well-written show with intriguing characters, exceptional storylines and gritty realism. I have watched The Shield from season 1. My brother got me hooked on it one day when there was a season 1 marathon. The Shield is one of the few shows that is able to delve into the characters background and maintain ongoing storylines without becoming boring. Each character is going through his/her own personal struggles, which makes the show more entertaining and real. None of the characters are perfect and their flaws make them even more likable. Vic Mackey, the leader of the infamous Strike Team, tries to balance his career and his family. Now that he and his wife have separated, Vic tries hard to still be a strong presence in his children's lives. Vic also fights inner battles about how far he is willing to go for justice and for money. I doubt his conscience will ever be clear with the Armenian money train and Det. Crowley's blood on his hands. This season will make or break Vic. He may be taken down by the IAD or he could walk away with nothing but the memories of his actions. One thing is for sure; Vic will never give in or be intimidated by the IAD. He will never change his ways. He works to protect the innocent and he doesn't mind wasting low-life scum if that's what it takes. Season 5 will be Vic's most challenging...will his past come back to haunt him? Shane, a Strike Team member, is basically a complete screw-up. He betrayed his friends and is now trying to gain their trust. I doubt that is ever possible with his wife, Mara, still in the picture. She rules his life, hates Vic, and doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut. This season is sure to reveal if Shane's partnership with Antwon Mitchell will be his demise. Lem, another Strike Team member, is the conscience of the group. He is the one that couldn't handle the guilt and the greed correlated with the money train. He is caring and extremely loyal. Now that he has found out that Vic shot Crowley, he may change his opinion of Vic and the Strike Team. This season, we'll see if he will remain loyal and take the heat for the Strike Team, or if he will turn them in. Either way, he'll always be my favorite. Ronnie, the last Strike Team member, is a man of few words. He is given some of the best lines, yet he is not a character that has been explored in detail. We don't know much about his background or his beliefs. He seems to abide by the "eye for an eye" punishment system. If someone messes with him, he'll make sure they get it right back. He is very loyal and seems to get the Strike Team out of a lot of messes. If Lem doesn't give up info, I bet the IAD will turn to Ronnie since they are mainly gunning for Vic and Shane. We'll see if he goes down or manages to stay out of the IAD witchhunt. Dutch is the lovable, dorky detective who gets picked on by Vic and his fellow officers. He is extremely smart and is probably one of the best detectives on TV, though his talent is rarely recognized. He always seems to be able to put together puzzles that are missing pieces. He is very loyal to his partner, Claudette, which could hurt his career in the long run. Poor Dutch can never seem to find a decent woman. I doubt he has a chance with the new cop, Tina, but that is who he is eyeing. Claudette is another detective who is strong-willed and tough. She will not let anyone feed her bull and she doesn't back down from a fight. She is still bitter over the fact that she was given the Captain's job only to have it taken back. She is an excellent detective but needs to learn to let things go. This season, she is challenged further with lupus. She may work through the pain or realize it is time to turn in her badge. Julien, a cop, is probably one of the most conflicted characters on the show. He is still trying to figure out his sexual orientation. He has been with men but always denies that he is gay. He married a woman and tries to lead a normal life; however, he is sometimes harassed by other cops and there are times when he seems unsure of his feelings. This season, he is training Tina and he is already very tough on her. I think Danny will have to remind him frequently about how many times she let him off the hook when she trained him. As a black officer, Julien is also troubled with the way the barn is run. He took offense to the previous captain's (Rawling) method of search and seizure program, claiming it was targeting poor blacks. He is probably the most likely to transfer or give up police work. Danny is now on desk duty due to her pregnancy. She is mum about the father so the biggest mystery this season will be who the father is. She has had relations with Vic and Dutch (a kiss). She also has had an admirer, troublemaker Taylor, who she has turned down numerous times but maybe he will reappear this season. Danny has matured a lot since the first season and she is now giving advice to new cop, Tina. Danny is already tired of Tina's girliness and expects her to toughen up. Danny loves being a cop so it will be interesting to see if the baby changes anything. Aceveda was the original Captain of the barn. He has always been cocky and he cares more about his political image than helping people. He and Vic have always hated each other but have actually worked together several times to get what they wanted. Aceveda is still battling his emotional/mental troubles related to his rape by a male criminal, whom he eventually murdered. He has seemingly given up prostitutes for his wife but I doubt that will last. He has a lot of anger and rage to work on before he can be good father and husband. Billings is the new captain which is a joke. He seems to have no desire to lead the station and he will never be taken seriously. The real question with Billings is how long he will last. Kavanaugh, the IAD agent after Vic and the Strike Team, is a new addition to the show. So far, he has proven to be annoying and willing to do anything to get what he wants. So how low will he go? Will he get what he wants out of Lem and Corrine? Will he bring the Strike Team down? He will be Vic's toughest adversary. Season 5 promises to be just as good as or even better than the pervious seasons. I anxiously await each episode and I do own all the seasons on DVD. This is a show I will watch once it's over and I consider it to be one of the best shows ever made.

[Jordan is banging computer keys in frustration] Nigel: "Please evacuate the keyboard area." [when asked why he became an ME] Bug: "I wanted to be a children doctor but little kids hated me." Det. Cruz: "You and I are on the same street, you know. Just different sides." Jordan: "That doesn't make us pals. So far - not a big fan." Det. Cruz: "Don't worry. I grow on people." Jordan: "So does fungus." Jordan: [to Garret] "It's like you always tell me. The dead bodies are easy. It's the alive ones that get more complicated." Woody: "Stay in the car." Jordan: "What exactly in our past makes you think I'll do that?" Jordan: "You're not really going to put me on that leash are you?" Macy: "You'd just chew through it." Nigel: "So if I killed my husband, where would I stash the body?" Jordan: "If you killed your husband you'd have to start in the closet." Woody: "What do we got?" Garrett: "Well, since they called for a medical examiner and homicide detective, my guess is a body." Woody: "Is sarcasm a prerequisite for being an ME? Garrett: It helps." Woody: "Looks like man vs. city bus. You can guess the outcome." Woody: "I have been meaning to ask you why do they call you Bug?" Bug: "Because I like insects. Why do they call you Woody?" Woody: "Why are you here again?" Woody: [Woody begins to undress and change his clothes] Bug: "You obviously didn't make it to the sexual harassment seminar." Woody: "Sure I did. That's why I didn't ask if you wanted to wrestle." Woody: "Any way to tell her age from the autopsy?" Bug: "Sure, I'll just cut her open and count the rings." Woody: "You could have simply said no." [a woman is running a brothel under the disguise of a modeling agency] Madam: "You know, we're starting a men's division, Detective Hoyt. In case you're ever interested in making some extra cash..." Woody: "I'll keep that in mind." Bug: "What about me?" Bug: [Bug is having technical difficulties] Woody: "You know, I could always go get Nigel." Bug: "If you love Nigel so much, why don't you marry him?" Woody: "We can actually do that now in Vermont." Woody: "Let's not jump to any hasty conclusions here. If I was looking for the wack-a-doo conspiracy version I would have called Jordan in." Nigel: "I am some how both flattered and insulted by that." Woody: "I'd appreciate if you handle this with a little bit of sensitivity. I don't know if you know this or not, but I'm up for a promotion this year. So if word got out..." Nigel: "Woody, Woody, Woody... I promise that I will keep an open mind, okay? And anyway sensitivity is my middle name." [opens the door] Nigel: [shouts] "Sweet Mary in the manger!" Jordan: "Look... You guys get along. I need you to talk to him." Woody: "He pulled a gun on me!" Jordan: "That's bonding for him. He feels comfortable with you." Woody: "He said he was going to shoot me!" Jordan: "You see... You guys are closer than I thought." Woody: "I have moral issues shooting live animals. I don't care if it is wabbit hunting season." Cal Hoyt: "But you shoot people." Woody: "I shoot bad people." Cal Hoyt: "Well, there's bad wabbit." Nigel: "Not only is my intelligence not dampened by alcohol, I actually get smarter with each drink. By the time I'm pissed drunk, my IQ reaches genius levels."

Boothe: "You know, you squint at things." Brennan: "Oh, you mean people with high IQ's and basic reasoning skill?" Boothe: "Look, you're nuts okay? We get it. We don't need to hear the rambling psycho-speech on why you did it." Special Agent Seeley Booth: "Yeah." Angela: "I wouldn't bet a date with Colin Farrell on it." Brennan: "I know him. He's funny." Where are the Survivors now?
by *donutsfordinner on Comments
Over the past eleven seasons of Survivor, there have been some contestants we LOVE and some we HATE. Several have resurfaced since their stint on Survivor for a variety of reasons such as legal troubles, illness, acting, etc. Most of them, we never hear from again. So my question is, where are they now and what have they done since Survivor?? I did a little research and here is what I found (please add any more info you know): Richard Hatch (Borneo): He is on trial for tax fraud. Rudy Boesch (Borneo): He wrote a book called "The Book of Rudy : The Wit and Wisdom of Rudy Boesch." Susan Hawk (Borneo): She underwent an "extreme makeover" and it was chronicled on Extra. Jenna Lewis (Borneo): A sex tape of her honeymoon with her ex-husband emerged "accidently." She appeared in Eminem's music video "Without Me" and in the reality spoof movie "The Scorned." She was dating Steven Hill (Real World Las Vegas) as of August 2005. Colby Donaldson (Outback): He was featured in the movie "Red Eye" with Rachel McAdams and has appeared in commericals for Schick four blade razors. He also had a guest appearance on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," played a cop on "8 Simple Rules" and played a Navy SEAL on "JAG." Amber (Brkich) Mariano (Outback): She wrote "Amber's Guide For Girls." I have yet to see this on the shelves but, then again, I'm not looking. She also has been on Survivor All-Stars and The Amazing Race. We all know she is now married to Rob Mariano and they are affectionately called "Romber." Elisabeth (Filarski) Hasselbeck (Outback): She is a co-host on "The View." She also got married and recently had a baby girl. Kel Gleason (Outback): He was attacked and stabbed in a crowded Canadian bar back in 2002. Jeff Varner (Outback): He has been in several plays and received a LA Weekly Theatre Award nomination for Best Ensemble for "As I Lay Dying." Roger Bingham (Outback): He carried the Olympic Torch as it went through Milford, OH on December 18th, 2001. My fiance lives in Kentucky and has seen him several times since the show ended. He's just a sweet, country man. :) Silas Gaither (Africa): He had a SMALL role in "Anger Management" and apparantly he had a lead role in a World War II movie on the History Channel, a lead part in an independent film, and has appeared in several commercials. Ummm...has anyone seen him in any of those?? Lindsey Richter (Africa): She married professional mountain biker, Kirt Voreis, appeared in Eminem's video "Without Me," and has posed for some calendars and magazines. Back in July 2003, she was arrested for slapping a cop. Ethan Zohn (Africa): We all know what he's doing...he's dating Jenna Morasca, from Survivor Amazon. He helped create a non-profit organization called Grassroot Soccer and he also appeared in "The Scorned." Hunter Ellis (Marquesas): He hosted "Man, Moment, Machine" on the history channel. Tammy Leitner (Marquesas): She married to Mike Gossie back in 2002. What is so cool is that Paschal English performed the ceremony, Kathy O'Brien was the wedding coordinator, and Sean Rector introduced the wedding party. Survivors in attendance were: Sarah, Kathy, Vee, Neleh, John, Sean, The General, Paschal and Gabe. It's so cool that they all see each other and get along! Rob Mariano (Marquesas): Obviously, he married Amber Brkich, from Survivor Outback. He also joined CBS' Early Show to host his own segment, "Rob to the Rescue." Jake Billingsley (Thailand): He wrote the book "What Shapes Jake's Hat? Jenna Morasca (Amazon): As mentioned above, she is dating Ethan Zohn. She also posed for Playboy in August 2003, made her Off-Broadway debut in Pieces (of Ass) back in 2003 and appeared in "The Scorned." Additionally, she started her own business called Model Challenge USA. Heidi Strobel (Amazon): She posed in Playboy in August 2003 along with Jenna. Rob Cesternino (Amazon): He co-wrote and produced "The Scorned." He currently works at Creative Light Entertainment, a production company in LA. Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands): He participated in Survivor All Stars and was chosen as America's favorite contestant and won $1 million. He donated $100K to help launch Rupert's Kids Inc., a foundation to help kids. Jonny Fairplay (Pearl Islands): He signed with TNA wrestling back in Jan. 2004; however, he has rarely been used after he was in a bar fight in June 2004. He appeared in the movie "The Scorned." Julie Berry (Vanuatu): She is currently dating Jeff Probst. I never saw that one coming! Leann Slaby (Vanuatu): She is scheduled to be the lead role in the independent movie "not this girl." Scout Cloud Lee (Vanuatu): She wrote and published two books "Sworn to Fun: Celebrate Every Little Thing, and have two others under contract and in process: Scout's Honor and Tips and Tails from the Trail: Cowgirl Wisdom for Business and Life" and "The Circle Is Sacred." Katie Gallagher (Palau): She was arrested for drunken driving back in September of 2005. Jen Lyon (Palau): She was diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. Tom Westman (Palau): He became the the spokesman for a clothing line, Caribbean Joe and he appeared on "The Bold and The Beautiful." Coby Archa (Palau): He adopted a daughter and named her Janu, after Janu Tornell, a fellow Survivor. He runs his own beauty salon. Jeff Wilson (Palau): In April 2005, he made his acting debut on "The Young and the Restless."
