Twilight / Speak

I've read all three Twilight novels and I think they're pretty good, however I don't think they are as great as they were made out to be before I read them. I don't really find any off the characters particularly likeable, except Edward of course, and sometimes Jacob. I don't think Bella is a good protaganist and I think I still don't really know or understand her or see any personality in her after all three novels. I think they can be extremely cheesy at some parts and drag on quite a bit. That being said I do enjoy them and I am looking forward to the next book and the film. I am a fan of Catherine Hardwicke who will be directing it, but I don't really have that high of standards for the film because my when my favorite book series was turned into a film (Harry Potter), it was dissapointing but when I look at the films as a seperate thing I enjoy it more, and I plan on doing the same thing for the Twilight films, and with the bits and pieces I've seen so far it looks great. The only critism I have of the trailer and stuff is that it makes Edward seem kinda creepy and scary, when in the books he was always mysterious but just kind of, charming, and he didn't really have that, but I think its too quick to judge. Oh and I know everyone is freaking from that whole "spidermonkey" line, and I've tried really hard to hate it but I just can't. Rob just sounds so hot while saying it, and I didn't know that it was possible to sound hot with a normal boring American accent but I think the fact that he actually has an English accent and is just doing and American accent so he has mastered the art of conveying hotness through speech.

So anyway, I knew Kristen Stewart was cast as Bella and I hadn't really seen much of her work, and I saw that she was in the movie of the book 'Speak', and I loved the book so I decided to watch the movie and I really enjoyed it, it was really heartbreaking and Kristen did a beautiful job. She has a real vunerability and kind of beauty in a simple way which I think is great for Bella and will make her alot more likeable in the films then in the books. So I defintely reccomend it!

I thought our story was epic, you know?

The thing I love about Logan and Veronica is that, they both lost their first loves (Lily, Duncan), so in most cases it would seem like they were just 'settling' for each other. But for them, it was the opposite.

They both lost their first loves in extremely traumatic ways. Logan's first love Lily was murdered by his father, and Duncan ran away to Mexico with the child of his dead ex-girlfriend. In addition, Logan had been left down by pretty much everyone in his life, his father murdered his girlfriend, his mom committed suicide, none of the 09ers really understood him, and everyone just saw him as the son of Aaron Echolls. He didn't really feel he could trust or rely on anyone other than Dick, but Dick is well, Dick, so that's not saying much. And after all the turmoil with her rape, Lily's death, and her mom, Veronica only had her Dad and Wallace, and she was closed off and didn't trust anyone or open up and make herself vulnerable to anyone.

However even when they absolutely hated each other, they had an unspoken connection that had formed over the death of Lily, even though that was ironically the event that created the hatred between them anyway. When Logan asked Veronica to help him with his mom, it wasn't only because Veronica was a P.I., it was also because he knew he could rely on Veronica and that she wouldn't judge him, and he trusted her enough that he broke down in her arms when he found out his mom was in fact dead. In 1.18, Logan comes to save Veronica at the Camelot which leads to the famous first kiss, even though they are still supposedly enemies at this point. Even at the end of season 2 which could quite possibly be when the levels of tension between Logan and Veronica were at their highest, Veronica still texted Logan to come and help her when she is on the roof with Cassidy, because they know that no matter how much hostility is between them they will always be able to rely on each other.

I think Logan has always had a bit of a crush on Veronica, which he shyly admits when he said he thought she looked 'hot' in her soccer uniform. They are really alike in the way that they both have like explosively strong personalities, and a sarcastic attitudes, but underneath all that they are really broken up. But those strong personalities mean that all the emotions they have for each other are strongly amplified. That's why they struggle with their feelings for each other at first. They have such extreme loathing for each other but then when Veronica kisses him in 1.18, it was intended to be a small thank you kiss, but the feelings they have for each other take over and it turns into a passionate kiss. Then they both have conflicting emotions, because what are you supposed to do when you start to have such passionate feelings about someone you hated so much?

But then, in the next episode Logan and Veronica decide to give into their feelings and they say:

Veronica: I know Lilly loved you.
Logan: Just not like I loved her. It's ok. You know it kind of lets me off the hook. You know, I don't have to feel guilty anymore.
Veronica: Feel guilty about what?
Logan: Moving on.

I think this is one of those moments that really defines their relationship. This proves that even though Lily was his first love, she wasn't necessarily his strongest. It took SO much strength, to get over all the pain and turmoil that they had been through since Lily's death and loosing the ones they loved, and having to deal with all the emotions that have a relationship brought along. But the love and passion between the two of them was able to overcome all that grief and pain to allow themselves to give their hearts to each other. Neither Logan nor Veronica had such a strong connection with another person and this has been proven countless times. To name a few:

1. When the 09ers find out that Logan is dating Veronica, instead of laughing it off, or running away he tells them that if they don't like Veronica they have a problem with Veronica they can leave or just 'evaporate'. And then leaves the party to be alone with Veronica, not just to make out but to be honest with her and tell her about his (unintentional) involvement in her rape. This shows how much Veronica means to him; he is willing to stand up to all his 09er friends and will ditch them to be with Veronica. This shows that Veronica has become the most important person in his life and he is willing to do anything to make her happy.

2. Logan's reaction to their breakup and erratic behavior in season 2 shows that after he lost Veronica he was put on a downward spiral. Like he said he's 'tortured, ever since he I got his heart broken'. Although he was sleeping with Kendall Casablancas and dated Hannah for a bit, it was obvious that his feelings for Veronica were always there which were verified in the famous Epic speech he gave to her at the alterna-prom.

3. One of my favorite Logan and Veronica episodes is the Season 3 episode "Show Me the Money" because it proves that Logan and Veronica literally can't function without each other. This episode is six weeks after the previous episode when Logan and Veronica broke up, and both Logan and Veronica are very melancholy, and not really themselves, throughout the whole episode - especially Logan who can't even be cheered up by his favorite things, according to Dick (surfing, booze, girls). But none of those things matter because he doesn't have his favorite thing of all - Veronica. Finally after having a talk with Piz about not letting things pass her by, Veronica goes to Logan's hotel room and they reunite without having to say a word, because they both know they can't live without each other.

Together they have experience and supported each other so much, and Veronica and Logan will never have the history, connection, chemistry, or bond of love, passion, and understanding that they share with anyone else.

GossipGirl/OTH/Grey's/Lost + more!

Sorry!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, my internet was down all week and I couldn't figure out why, and then I realized the wireless button that makes me connected to the desktop computer wasn't hooked up, stupid I know :)

Anyway, this week was a great week in TV!

Gossip Girl - I really enjoyed this episode! I think it's good we're seeing a darker side of Serena, alot of book readers were complaining that Serena isn't the party girl she was in the books, and although I never read the books I thought it was good to see a little bit of her bad side, and her past coming back to haunt her because things were getting a little to perfect with Dan for a while. Speaking of her past: Georgina! Well I think people who said Michelle couldn't do **** were proven wrong in this episode, I think she did a great job and I'm excited to see what she's gonna do next. Also I love the friendship between S and C, its really great to see Chuck looking out for her, because it just proves, no matter how much of an a$$hole Chuck is, he will be there for the people he cares about when they need it, and I think he genuinely cares about Serena, which is sweet. I loved the thing with B and Nelly Yuki, but I hope we can get more C/B scenes other than evil stares (full of sexual tension of course). Nate and Vanessa! Well I thought it was a bit rushed and I didn't like that but other than that I thought they were great! They have good chemistry and I think they really bring out something great in eachother, Nate looked happier in those few scenes with her than he ever did with B or S, so I'm definitely willing to give them a chance. So excited for next week to learn Serena's secret & who's gay!

OTH - Well let me just say, I have not been happy with this season. Last season was okay, but definitely not the best. I just feel like in the first 3 seasons, though they had their low points, OTH was this really poignant show, where you loved and sympathized with the characters and laughed and cried along with them, and watched them develop. However, although OTH has never been exactly realistic, but in season 4, it lost its natural flow and just became a show with pointless and unrealistic drama instead of a natural developing storyline. I mean Peyton being held hostage by a stalker and Dan being haunted by Keith's ghost, what is this, Days of Our Lives? So, I haven't really been paying attention to season 5 episodes much. That being said, I didn't really pay attention to this episode much but I'm sick and tired of this Peyton/Lucas/Lindsay thing, Leyton has their moments but when they have ever character say "Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together" twice an episode it gets a little sickening, and I love Peyton but when she obsesses over Lucas it just makes me want to be like stoooooooopppp and hit her or something. Oh, and if Dan dies, I don't think any episodes will be bearable anymore, I mean come on! Paul is one of the most talented actors on the show and OTH would be nothing without their villan. I liked the Brucas scenes in this episode, I was never a huge Brucas fan (although I'll take them over Leyton anyday) but it was really sweet and simple and I enjoyed it.

Grey's Anatomy - This episode was amazinggg! In case you didn't know, Addie is my absolute favorite Grey's character, and I love Kate Walsh. She looked really pretty with the dark hair (although I do like red better). I would love for her to leave LA and come back to Seattle Grace full time because I really don't enjoy Private Practice, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. This episode reminded me of like old school Grey's, where I could actually get through an episode without wanting to punch every single character in the face! I really loved Izzie in this episode, she reminded me of her old self in season 1 when she was my favorite character, and Katie looked gorgeous. I really like the George and Lexie friendship and as much as I hated Lexie I'm really starting to like her. I hope George and Izzie become close friends again, because I really enjoyed their friendship before that awful romance. I love that Mer is really taking some initative and doing the clinical study and working professionally with Derek, although I do hope it brings them closer together. Oh I really dislike Rebecca, but I don't think she is manipulating Alex into thinking she's pregnant, I think she actually think shes pregnant. Oh, and I hope the fact that Izzie has her case will lead to some Alex/Izzie bonding! I thought that Callie/Hahn thing was really funny and awkward, however I have to say that I really dislike Dr. Hahn, she creeps me out and is a bad replacement for Burke, whom I love but I understand why he had to go. I wonder if there is going to be a new character they are going to bring in to take Addie's place?

Lost - I'm too tired to get too in depth about LOST this week, but it was good. I really dislike Jack and Kate together and apart so it was hard for me appreciate those parts of this episode, but it did fill in ALOT of blanks when it comes to the future timeline. Plus, I always love a visit from Christian Shepard! He's probably in like my top ten favorite Lost characters ever list, he's so mysterious. It was totally chilling, Claire seeing him there holding Aaron and saying "Dad?". CLAIRE BETTER NOT BE DEAD! Because Charlie went down to the Looking Glass Station to save Claire, and no matter what it does for other people, Charlie's purpose for going down there was Claire and Aaron, and I don't want Charlie's death to be unjustified (if that's a word?). Again, I really love Sawyer's protectiveness over Claire. The scene between Hurley and Jack at the mental hospital was really chilling as well. I felt the whole appendectomy (sp?) thing to be kinda pointless, because Jack is one of the O6, so we knew he wouldn't die or anything. Anyway, next week looks so good!! I love Hurley, Ben, Locke and I love the most mysterious one of all : JACOB!!

P.S. I've been really addicted to Gossip Girl/OTH Crossover Videos, so if you have any good ones send them to me.

P.S.S. I think I'm gonna start doing countdowns of my favorite moments of my favorite tv couples, start with LoVe :)

The Shape of Things to Come

Ok, so this weeks episode of Lost was so amazing, I had to take a couple days to gather my thoughts. I feel like this episode had so much potential to be horrible, cheesy, and just put the show on a downward spiral forever, and it was either going to be an amazing episode, or a horrible one, and thank god it was the amazing! It was basically the most eventful, most BADASS, most emotional and fan rewarding episodes of Lost ever.

Ok so -

Tunisia, Teleportation, The Orchid - I remember in a podcast a couple weeks ago Damon and Carlton said that the fact that Charlotte found the polar bear in Tunisia (sp?) was really significant. And we see Ben waking up looking somewhat disheveled and confused in the Sahara in this episode, presumably the same place Charlotte found that polar bear. My theory is that the new Dharma station (The Orchid) has something to do with teleportation, and there are only certain locations that they can or will teleport things to for some unknown reason, and that's how the polar bear got there, and that's how Ben is getting off the island. When Locke, Sawyer, and Hurley were playing that board game in the beginning of the episode Hurley said something about how 'Australia is the key to the game', I think this may have to do with teleportation too, because Australia is where Flight 815 set off from.

Multiple badass moments in the episode - The way Ben was sitting there so calmly playing classical piano and then just pulled out a huge gun was amazing, as was him taking out the two gun toting desert men in the Sahara, and just totally reminded me why I love Ben. Sayid killing Widmore's man was amazing too (although nothing will ever beat Sayid's ultimate badass moment of breaking a man's neck with his feet whilst being tied up) and he totally deserved it. I feel so bad for Sayid, he finally got his happy ending with Nadia and then got it all taken away from him. However, I'm glad we finally got an answer to one of our questions so quickly, we now know why Sayid is working for Ben. I think Sayid and Ben are the perfect combination because its like, Ben is the brains behind the operation and Sayid is the badass, but Sayid is also one of the smartest people like on Earth, and Ben is obviously, a huge badass. Oh and of course, although it is not actually human (or is it?) the biggest badass of them all gave us a visit, the smoke monster! And it seems that Ben was the one the summoned it, and it seemed to be moving and more rapid speed and seemed to be... stronger (for lack of a better word) than usual. The smoke monster is probably Lost's biggest mystery and the one that I have no idea about, so if you have any good theories let me know.

Alex's Death and the Ben/Widmore Confrontation - Alex's death was absolutely heartbreaking. The acting was amazing in that scene, when Ben was saying Alex wasn't really his daughter and he didn't care about her, you could see the pain on Alex's face and you could just feel the anxiety and fear in Ben's voice. I think other than the island itself, Ben never really loved anyone but Alex, and after all the bad things that had happened between them in their last few weeks together, and the fact that her death was his fault, the guilt is going to be eating away at him but I'm sure the revenge will be great. Also, if Rousseau is still alive (I hope so!) it is going to be horrible for her, after have Alex taken away from her for 16 years to only spen a few days with her before she dies. Anway, my next point, the Charles Widmore/Benjamin Linus confrontation at the end of this episode. I thought it was shot really well, the way their faces were half-shadowing each other and the way they were standing so far apart and speaking so calmly but you could just feel the tension and hostility between them. Charles says something about how the island has been 'his for a long time' suggesting he has some sort of ties with Dharma. And then (one of) the biggest surprises of the night, Ben says he plans on killing Widmore's daughter, Penny! Well I was pretty much screaming at this point, because along with Locke, Ben and Desmond are my favorite characters. And as much as Ben needs to get revenge and take down Widmore, Des needs his happy ending with Penny! So I'm torn over who to side with. But thinking about this made me realized something. Ben and Desmond have never met. When Desmond came back at the end of season 2 on the Elizabeth, Henry Gale had already escaped. At the end of season 3 when Ben confronted the group, Des was in the Looking Glass Station with Charlie, and now that the camps have split up Des is with Jack and Ben is with Locke. I'll have to rewatch The Beginning of the End to see if they actually saw each other or were in the same proximity when the camps split up.

Sawyer- I'm loving the new Sawyer. I love how he's like best friends with Hurley now, they seemed to be hanging out a lot in season 3 and I love how he's being really protective over Hurley & Claire. When he told Locke and Ben that he'd kill them if they hurt one hair on Hurley's head I thought that was so adorable! And I love how he saved Claire and basically risked his life to help her. I think now that Sawyer has killed Anthony Cooper and been hurt by Kate so much, he's been kind of lost and unsure what to do with himself. And now that Hurley and Claire have lost Charlie is good to see Sawyer being so supportive of them because I think that is exactly what all three of them need. There have been some rumors circulating that the 'big kiss' that's happening in the finale will be between Sawyer and Claire. I don't know how much I would like that, I see them as more of a brother sisterly type thing, but after this episode it seems more believable and I'm willing to give it a chance.

The doctor - I felt like the stuff with Jack and the doctor slowed down the episode just a teensy bit, but it was minimal enough and eventful enough that it didn't really make a difference. And I don't really know what to make of this stuff! There are three possibilities I can think of the message they received can mean. 1) The doctor was killed (maybe because he was trying to stop Keamy + friends from leaving the freighter?) and they were just lying when they said everything was going to be okay. 2) The doctor really is alive and there is some sort of time warp going on between the island and the freighter (which seems possible according to all these quirky little things Daniel keeps saying about time and how its perceived). 3) There is a different doctor on the boat and that's who they are talking about. I read a crazy theory that the freighter is the future and the island is the past, and when Daniel was talking to the guy on the freighter when he was talking about the doctor, he was talking about Jack. Oh and I don't think Jack's sickness is anything serious. I think this is just setting him up so he will leave the island.
Other little things:

- Locke's crew is so much cooler than Jack's crew by a million miles.
- I absolutely love love love Daniel Faraday! I love his kind of nervous, shaky was of speaking, and I love the tie he always wears, he's adorable.
- Claire's hair looks like she's wearing a really bad wig and it has all season, am I the only one noticing this?
- I was thinking, in The Beginning of the End, Hurley was saying he was sorry he went with Locke. Could he mean he's sorry he's going with Locke now, instead of then? I mean I know Jack wasn't there, but we don't know much about Jacob and maybe what happens when they are all at Jacobs cabin could have serious implications for everyone on the island.

All in all, amazing episode, can't wait till next week!!

GossipGirl!

This was an amazing episode, definitely one of the best so far. I hope the rest of the upcoming episodes are all this good.

The 'VanderBass' family - They are amazing! As much as I love Lily & Rufus and I don't want her to marry Bart, I loved all these scenes together. I love the Chuck/Eric friendship, its like he's taking him under his wing. I really enjoyed the Serena and Chuck scenes, they have great brother/sister chemistry, but Chuck's scenes with anyone are great :D Hopefully now that we know that Chuck didn't send Serena those things, he can move back in and we can get more scenes with this family. And it seems like is gonna be really supportive of Serena with this whole Georgie thing, which will be great.
Georgina - Okay I know technically we didn't see her yet, but we've seen her 'gifts' for Serena so I think its okay to start talking about her. I know alot of people are not very happy about Michelle Trachtenberg (sp?) saying shes ugly, not a good 'bad girl', etc. However, I haven't really seen her in anything other than a random episode of Buffy I saw (but there is a kid in my math ****who runs a fansite for her, lol), so I'm pretty excited for her to come. I really feel like Serena, and her and Dan's relationship, are way to perfect, and I reallllly wanna know what this thing from her past is, all I know is that Blake said it was 'something that could get her in trouble with the law'. And, if you've seen that picture of Georgie kissing you-know-who, your probably excited to see what happens too.
Jenny - What can I say about Jenny? Well the first word that comes to mind is 'hate'. This episode proves that Jenny does not belong on the upper east side, and is just a shallow, desperate loser, who is willing to steal her friends dress to fit in. I was so happy to see Blair humiliate her at the party. I couldn't believe she decided to use Nate to get her back into the inner circle, but hey, it'll just be ten times better when B finally does take her down. However, I think Taylor Momsen's acting improve (still, its not that great, but she's the youngest of the cast so I'll cut her some slack)
Blair - I thought there was a noticeable lack of Blair in this episode, which is ironic considering the episode is titled 'The Blair **** Project'. Blair of course, is my favorite character. Blair is a **** yeah, but that is just who she is, and she makes no excuses for it, and wont change who she is to please someone. And plus, underneath that hard exterior, she really is just a vunerable, insecure girl who has had everyone let her down. And I'm sure Blair will be scheming her way back to the top soon enough.

Other little things -
- Love Taylor's new haircut! It looks great on her.
- This episode was so good, I didn't notice there weren't any B/C scenes, but hopefully there will be some next week. B, S, and C would be the perfect trio.
- Why do they put so much makeup on Blake? She's naturally beautiful and looks so much nicer with all that makeup caked on her.
- Loved the song 'Sour Cherry' by The Kills playing at the end of this episode.

I'll post something about OTH later today, but I'll just say, the best season 5 episode is still not halfway as good as the worst season 3 episode.

P.S. Super excited for Thursday, my two favorite shows Grey's Anatomy and Lost are coming back!
