Man that sounded incredibly Nintendo-Tecmo Bowl-ish. Guess I sort of wrote it that way!
The Chicago Bears have clinched the NFC North for the 2nd year in a row, easilly destroying the pathetic Vikings, Packers and Lions. It just shows you how poor the NFC is these days. I couldn't help to think that the Vikings played like absolute **** because of the 14 degrees / -4 wind chill temps. That's why Minnesota teams shouldn't play in domes.
As for the Bears, Rex Grossman was horrible, and at one point, his QB Passer Rating was 2.0, and that was before the stupid incomplete pass on 3 & 19 with 2:43 left. (edit: Rex Grossman finished with a 1.3 QB Passer Rating, absolutely horrible!) Once again it was the defense and special teams & an awful opponent that saved the Bears. Note to Rex: do NOT throw the ball down the field! At one point, Rex had 3 interceptions to go with his 3 completions & finished with 0 TDs. I seriously doubt the Bears can win a Super Bowl with Rex as the QB.
* - Flordia Gators have passed Michigan in the polls, so I guess it's Ohio St. vs Florida. Despite the contrary to fans of both UF & UM, I say we just delcare OSU champions and be done with it, because any matchup or result is going to feel cheap. And there's too many bowls out there.
* - the Cincinnati Reds introduced their new uniforms for 2007 on Friday, and the owners were a bunch of liars. Rumors were of changing black to blue, and then blue to nothing, leaving with a clean and tradtional red & white scheme. Only they lied. The black blockshadow is still on the wishbone-C caps, and the logo, scripts and numbers all have ugly black blockshadows. Gone are the black caps, black jerseys, black belt, the pinstripes, the vest and the Red Runningman, who was replaced with the 1940-50s retro logo Mr. Redleg. For pics, visit any Reds team page. The home jersey has a home-Detroit Tigers look, with red placket piping, team logo on left, numbers on right, Mr. Redleg on sleeve. The roads have a plain grey with an extremely modern and cluttered vertical arched "CINCINNATI" in red, outlined in white & a black blockshadow, completely unneccessary and completely clunks up the look. And then the redundant altermate jersey, red with white placket piping & logo and numbers in white w/ black blackshadows. I have to say, it looks better with less black, but the script font and numbers is horrible, and is almost identical to the Washington Nationals & new Arizona Diamondbacks look. Those two teams put out looks almost identical to the Houston Astros & Washington Nationals, and that's just uninspired. Oh did I say that I despise block / drop / box shadows?
