My Thoughts on the Emmys

Hey Everyone!!!

Here are my thoughts on last night's Emmy Awards!!! I would love to know what you guys think of it too!!! My considerations are in green... Tell me: Do you or Do you not agree with me and/or the academy....

Emmy Winners & Nominees - 2007

(The award winners are listed inbold type.)

Drama Series: "Boston Legal", "Grey's Anatomy", "Heroes", "House", "The Sopranos".

I already knew the results to that one before the award show even started. As far as I am concerned, just the fact the it was its last season guaranteed The Sopranos this award... If it was up to me, the winer would br House or Grey's (PS: Isn't Boston Legal more of a comedy than a drama or is it just me?)

Comedy Series: "Entourage", "The Office", "30 Rock", "Two And A Half Men", "Ugly Betty".

Totally deserved!!! I think it was about time to aknowledge Tina Fey as a writer. She is awesome and the show is really funny and sarcastic! Loved the option and was totally surprised! I was sure Ugly Betty would nail it...

Reality-Competition Program: "The Amazing Race", "American Idol", "Dancing With The Stars", "Project Runway", "Top Chef".

Obvious choice! Isn't it like... the 10th time The Amazing Race wins this award???

Actor in a Comedy Series: Ricky Gervais (as Andy Millman) in "Extras", Tony Shalhoub (as Adrian Monk) in "Monk", Steve Carell (as Michael Scott) in "The Office", Alec Baldwin (as Jack Donaghy) in "30 Rock", Charlie Sheen (as Charlie Harper) in "Two And A Half Men".

Never watched Extras in my life so I can't really complain here, but I was cheering for Tony Shalhoub orAlec Baldwin (it would be at least one award his wife did not get first....)

Actor in a Drama Series: James Spader (as Alan Shore) in "Boston Legal", Hugh Laurie (as Dr. Gregory House) in "House", Denis Leary (as Tommy Gavin) in "Rescue Me", James Gandolfini (as Tony Soprano) in "The Sopranos", Kiefer Sutherland (as Jack Bauer) in "24".

Trying to make my point again: As far as I'm concerned, Boston Legal is a comedy, not a drama! I would award Hugh Laurie for his outstanding performance as House...

Actor in a Miniseries or Movie: Robert Duvall (as Prentice "Print" Ritter) in "Broken Trail", Tom Selleck (as Jesse Stone) in "Jesse Stone: Sea Change", Jim Broadbent (as Lord Longford) in "Longford", William H. Macy (as Clyde Umney & Sam Landry) in "Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From The Stories Of Stephen King ยท Umney's Last Case", Matthew Perry (as Ron Clark) in "The Ron Clark Story" .

Same thing as The Sopranos: I knew the winner before the show even started! I respect Robert duvall as an actor just as much the the next person, but as a Stephen King fanatic you should know who I was cheering for...

Actress in a Comedy Series: Felicity Huffman (as Lynette Scavo) in "Desperate Housewives", Julia Louis-Dreyfus (as Christine Campbell) in "The New Adventures Of Old Christine", Tina Fey (as Liz Lemon) in "30 Rock", America Ferrera (as Betty Suarez) in "Ugly Betty", Mary-Louise Parker (as Nancy Botwin) in "Weeds".

HATED IT!!!! Not only I hate the show as I think she is a mediocre actress! I think Tina Fey deserved this award just as much as she deserved for Best Comedy Series!!!

Actress, Drama Series: Sally Field (as Nora Walker) in "Brothers & Sisters", Kyra Sedgwick (as Dep. Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson) in "The Closer", Mariska Hargitay (as Detective Olivia Benson) in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", Patricia Arquette (as Allison Dubois) in "Medium", Minnie Driver (as Dahlia Malloy) in "The Riches", Edie Falco (as Carmela Soprano) in "The Sopranos".

Sally Field is a Diva! None of these actresses stood a chance against her!!!!

Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Kevin Dillon (as Johnny Drama) in "Entourage", Jeremy Piven (as Ari Gold) in "Entourage", Neil Patrick Harris (as Barney Stinson) in "How I Met Your Mother", Rainn Wilson (as Dwight Schrute) in "The Office", Jon Cryer (as Alan Harper) in "Two And A Half Men".

I was so cheering for Jon Cryer... I like Jeremy Piven and all, but every time I look at him I can't help thinking of him as "Cupid" and it kinda ruins everything else for me...

Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: William Shatner (as Denny Crane) in "Boston Legal", T.R. Knight (as George) in "Grey's Anatomy", Masi Oka (as Hiro Nakamura) in "Heroes", Michael Emerson (as Ben) in "Lost", Terry O'Quinn (as John Locke) in "Lost".

I know he's a good actor, although I am NOT a Lost fan, but Masi Oka was AMAZING as Hiro and TR Knight was so expressive on Grey's 3rd season that it makes me feel like it wasn't quite fair...

Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series: Jaime Pressly (as Joy Turner) in "My Name Is Earl", Jenna Fischer (as Pam Beesly) in "The Office", Holland Taylor (as Evelyn Harper) in "Two And A Half Men", Conchata Ferrell (as Berta) in "Two And A Half Men", Vanessa Williams (as Wilhelmina Slater) in "Ugly Betty".

I was a bit disappointed at first because I absolutely LOVE Conchata Ferrel on Two and a Half Men, but as Jaime made her speech, I was so emotional for her that I realized this is her chance to finally prove herself as a serious actress instead of just another pretty girl, so it wasn't all that bad...

Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Rachel Griffiths (as Sarah Whedon) in "Brothers & Sisters", Katherine Heigl (as Isobel "Izzie" Stevens) in "Grey's Anatomy", Chandra Wilson (as Dr. Bailey) in "Grey's Anatomy", Sandra Oh (as Cristina Yang) in "Grey's Anatomy", Aida Turturro (as Janice Soprano) in "The Sopranos".

loved it! Loved It! LOVED IT! L-O-V-E-D I-T!!!!!! Katherine's work early in the season, the grief over Denny's death and stuff... She was absolutelly perfect! And it was about time that Grey's get some recognition for the wonderful actors that make that show a success!!!!
