Get rewarded for watching TV!

lThat's right...get rewarded for watching tv!

I thought I'd share one of my semi-new finds with my tv.com friends, www.rewardtv.com

You play trivia games about television shows---and commericials that aired during the show---and earn points. You can cash those points in two times a week for gift cards, including restaurant cards and gas cards. OR you can save up your points and use them for auctions or enter into sweepstakes. There is a slight catch---you have to log on to rewardtv.com at exactly the time they are giving away the gift cards, because there is a limited amount.

Also, while you are supposed to watch the shows the day they aired, if you know your tv show trivia good enough, but missed a rerun of the show that day, still play and get points!

Also, **this will probably be deleted soon** if you could go back to my site: www.buttercreamkisses.com and click on the ads, that would be great. ;) Thanks.

Thanks!

Will you do me two Favors? And Friends....

Thanks for reading, maybe you are willing to do me two favors.

First off, I opened my website (www.buttercreamkisses.com) back up! It is skimpy right now, but I hope to keep adding more content in my spare time. P.S. if you happen to look around, you'll probably read something that you'll question.....If you find it, comment. Check my site occassionally if you want, I'm making a new top graphic, because I don't like the way the Aly & AJ one came out....I might reinvent the whole layout. Right now, I'm working on finding more visitor reads, adding a quote page, and a new artist to support. I also run the TFL Boy Meets World fanlisting @ www.buttercreamkisses.com/boymeetsworld , but the only thing I ever update is the list of fans....It is probably not worth it.

Second off, would you mind terribly praying for me? I haven't been doing well at all with my Lupus. I'm having a really bad flare....My mom wanted to take me to the hospital, but luckily I avoided that by making a bit of a recovery. I'm just...not doing well.

Here is the webmd.com link for Lupus, if you are curious about it: http://lupus.webmd.com

To end on a light note, have you heard the rumors about a Friends movie? I don't believe the rumors in the least--no "accurate" sources have said anything and E! News (not that they are that trustworthy) said it was a rumor only.

I think it is an awful idea....A comedy like "Friends" shouldn't be on the big screen, do a made-for-tv movie and I'm there; but the big screen....what about a laugh track? It would seem so odd without one. But I don't think my thoughts matter because, let's face it, it is not true. I'm not saying I wouldn't shell out some cash at the over-priced theatre, though. ;)

Thanks for reading.

Dreamgirls, Marie Antoinette...and tv.com, too

On Friday and Saturday I did something I don't normally do....watch movies.

My family has only had digital cable since December (and it is only on 1 tv), so I haven't had much experience with all these fancy movies channels (haha), but I decided to watch a couple.

First one, Dreamgirls. It wasn't bad....but it wasn't great....I was disappointed, especially with the open ended ending, I still don't know what to think.

I guess I was expecting a really cool story, but it was basically a bunch of music and little plot. Some of the music was all right, but again, I wasn't impressed...and I love music, especially oldies. Plus, the only Supremes resemblance was....3 girls from Detriot. It ends there. I liked the beginning, but then the movie went in another direction.

Second one, Marie Antoinette. Again--disappointed. Very, very little plot.....I know this was based on a book series, but I questioned the historical accuracy. This movie was mostly based on Marie Antoinette's young life and I was unfamiliar with the goings on of the movie. Basically, she went to parties and gambled...and....went to parties and gambled....and....it was boring. Of course, M.A. really did gamble and lived extravangtly (which is why the people revolted and killed her)...but, come on, there was no plot there. I really enjoy history from The French Revolution, so I was disappointed. The end is where the movie should have started--the storming of the Bastile, the royal family fleeting, etc...The lack of plot was sad.

OK, on to tv.com, I'm thinking about making a new banner, but I can't decide which show to feature....Maybe I'll change my icon to match. I updated the About Me section, but The HTML break tags didn't work, so I guess I'll draw some lines (----) to seperate my information. Also, I'm still trusted-less, I was trusted for one day with Sabrina (someone else became editor, which I thought was great because I could be trusted), but the new editor doesn't want any trusteds, because they like moderating the submissions....:(

I guess that's all. I'll try to comment on your blogs.

Retro, contributions, and summer

Welcome to the blog! First topic is....

Retro:

I'm so upset! Yesterday while I was watching Sister, Sister, I found out that WGN America (formerly the Superstation WGN) has been showing "Retro Nights" all week, featuring classic 70s sitcoms! On Monday was The Mary Tyler Moore Show and I missed it! :(

Last night, I watched 2 episodes of Taxi (while I was also watching The Orioles lose) and I was pretty entertained. The 9:30 episode, when Jim's psychic dreams/visions started coming true and everyone thought that Alex would die was pretty funny. :) They just don't make sitcoms like they did in the 70s.

But there is great news about retro week, tonight is Welcome Back, Kotter! One of my all-time favorite shows (and my fav. tv theme song). In celebration of Kotter, I've picked some of my favorite episodes to share:

* Episode 1 - The Great Debate- The sweathogs debate the smart kids and end up winning. I loved the sweathog cheerleader; Mr. Kotter kept silencing her cheers saying "don't give it to me," then after they won he yelled, "Give it to me!" :) It was great.

* Episode 44 - I'm Having Their Baby - Gabe goes to a convention and the sweathogs come to comfort/take care of Julie, who recently found out that she is pregnant. The sweathog/Julie interaction was also great--even though Julie terribly overacted. This episode reminds me of when I was little....I remember my mom ordered me two Boyds Bear monkeys from QVC and when they came, I named them Vinnie and Julie, after Kotter characters. I used to looove John Travolta as Vinnie. ;)

* Episode 47-48 (the next season, still a fast pregnancy though, huh?)- And Baby Makes Four - The birth of the baby-- wonderful comedic moments, probably my favorite episode....this is also when they jumped the shark though...as John Travolta would leave shortly (I believe he was already just a "guest star" now) and then once the star, Gabe Kaplan left, the show was a joke.

Contributions:

I'm 47 contributions away from 500, I've been contributing like crazy to Sabrina...especially with the cast reordering tool, as the star of the show is not credited first many times. I've also contributed a little to the Gilmore Girls...but I'm still trusted-less!

Summer:

I'm off work today! woohoo! It feels like summer.....Work is all right, I like secretary work a lot, typing requisitions, answering phones, filing...it is a real pain doing credit card reconciliation though...All in all, I like it...but I'd rather be home relaxing. Also, I decided not to take the summer **** It was costing my parents over $1,000 and I was still planning on 5 ****s in the fall, so taking the ****or not taking it, won't end up making much of a difference.....I worked out my whole schedule for the rest of college and it seems silly to waste $1,000+. Also, it was Biology and each session was 3 HOURS...and then my work schedule would be terrible.

That is all for now. Please comment. :)

Edit: Some words are being edited out with ***...It looks like I'm cursing, but I'm not...

Samantha Who and Back To You + trusted-less

Finally some time to blog! The first note up for discussion is....

Samantha Who: Samantha had her season finale last Monday and I thought it was great! I'm excited that there is a really good, original comedy on tv. I highly recommend that you catch the summer reruns, if there are summer reruns to be caught up for fall.

Yet, there is unfortunate Samantha news; some people on tv.com, it is thought that they are fans of competing comedies (ie Rules of Engagement), have been giving Samantha Who terrible ratings, for both the show and individual episodes. The pilot, for instance, is rated at 6.1--and it a fantastic pilot. SO, if you like Samantha Who just a little, or want to help out a good show, hop on over to the Samantha Who page and give her a good vote to boost the ratings.

Next up,

Back To You:The Grammer/Heaton comedy has been cancelled by FOX. I'm sure the two stars must feel awful that after such previous success they have been cancelled after one season. The show wasn't bad, but it was really good either. The "season" finale definitely served as a series finale, which was great. The main plot line was resolved. CBS might pick it up, but I doubt it--if they don't, I'm OK with that.

Finally...

Since I became EDITOR for Sabrina, the teenage witch, I have NO trusted contributor status! I can't really jump in one the shows that I watch because of the high point values for current contributors. I've been contributing to a person (Amy Grant) but I'm still trusted-less. I don't have much more to add/edit anyway.

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by. :D

Comment if you want!

A Quick Update!

~*I got the job I mentioned in the last post.*~

WOOHOO! I start on May 28th.

~*~**~*~*I'm singing a tune right now, but you can't hear me---lucky for you!*~*~*~*

In tv news, I really liked "Back To You" last night, I'm excited to see where they will go with the storyline of Gracie knowing that Chuck is her father. I also watched some of the Dove Awards on the Gospel Music Channel; unfortunately, I thought this was the worst Doves I have ever watched---too much traditional gospel, weird tribute to Michael W. Smith, no host, just.....disappointing! Plus, CCM isn't what it used to be.....Oh well.

That's all for now.

I can almost see the light....

Well, folks after my science exam on Monday and a quiz on a book on the 29th, all I will have to worry about is finals!

And if I do well on science exam, I won't be taking the science final, because she only counts the 3 highest grades and my first two were A's (so here's hoping for another A)!

Too bad my USSR exam will be yet another paper. :P I can tell you, Paul McCartney was obviously a bit crazed when he sang "Back in the USSR/You don't know how lucky are you, boy...." :) not only was the USSR horrid, but it is SUCH a boring class.

~*I can't wait for summer and to be relatively stress free. *~ I had a job interview last week, it was my first "real" interview. Unfortunately, I have no previous experience, so it looks like I probably will not be hired for the job, but I'm hoping......I'm also hoping someone else will contact me for an interview---they have my application, I'm just waiting.

Starting June 30-August 1 I'm taking a summer class.....I'm getting Biology over with....It is MWF from 9 am- 12 pm. 3 hours is quite a long time for one class, so I'm not looking forward to that, but at least I'll get it over with. Too bad I still have to take 5 classes in the fall, maybe in the spring I'll be able to take only 4 because of this summer class.

Well, that's about it from me. How have you all been?

April is Upon Us!

I can't believe it is nearly April....

April is pretty month the last month of school for me, we have exams May 5-9 and then, that's it.

I can't believe another school year is almost gone. I just hope I get through it! I was at school today working on the newspaper, trying to get the layout down....I had a little bit of a Rory Gilmore moment. ;)

In other news, my big research paper about 1940s Hollywood is due this month....and my research paper on Shakespeare's Measure for Measure is due this month.....And oh yes, my science project, due this month.....Then there is my Solzhenitsyn paper, due Tuesday (I'm finished that), my American Experience paper due Tuesday (finished) and of course a mini-paper due Tuesday (also finished that).

Also due this month? My 7 page research paper on the Nazi-Soviet nonaggression pact. AND my Philosophy paper, in which I must decide whether I agree with Descartes' skepticism/rationalism or Hume's empiricism.....

Is there more in April, you ask? Why yes. I also have a science exam and a PHILOSOPHY exam...I don't care for philosophy. And of course other reading/assignments.

If I make it through all that, I'll have finals, one of which, is another research paper. :)

*wipes sweat from brow.*

OK, I'm going to relax now....finally.

God Will Take Care of You

I was listening to Plumb's cover of "God Will Take Care of You" from her album Blink and I thought that I should post the lyrics....You never know who may need them. :)

Be not dismayed what e'er be tide
God will take care of you
Beneath His wings of love abide
God will take care of you

God will take care of you
Through every day, o'er all the way
He will take care of you
God will take care of you

Through days of toil when heart doth fail
God will take care of you
When dangers fierce your path assail
God will take care of you

God will take care of you
Through every day, o'er all the way
He will care for you
God will take care of you

God will take care of you
Through every day, o'er all the way
He will care for you

God will take care of you
