• Talk to your dog/cat.
• Ride horses or do yoga. Its great exercise!
• Search "wikiHow" for things like preppy and prep, along with other Clique things
• Ditch the junk food and sweets, sorry, but you want to be thin, not a blimp.
• NEVER start to have an eating disorder, you want to be thin, not anorexic or bulimic!!!
• Don't be a Massie clone, be a real Massie, not a wannabe.
• You never know who you'll see, so always look great.
• You MUST consult other Massie related wikiHows, that have very useful info
• Make sure that you have the last word, say your last comment, and then walk away
• Always have good posture, NO SLOUCHING or dragging your feet
• Invest in a good purse, from Coach or another designer brand
• Use words like "ah-mazing," "ah-dorable," and "ah-nnoying". Say "ehmagawd!" when you're shocked, surprised, or excited about something. Instead of saying no, say "Opposite of yes". When something is well-known and "ah-bvious" to you, say, "Given!". When you have the same opinion as someone, say, "Ah-greed". When saying the word not, say the word as "nawt". When something someone says strikes you as reasonable, say, "Point!" and draw an imaginary "1" with your finger if you desire.
• Have the best and biggest room. Go with Massie and have everything be white, no exceptions! Make sure you have a queen-size bed, (you are one, right?) an Apple computer, a giant walk-in closet to store all your ah-mazing clothes, and a leather chaise by your bay window to have long phone conversations and brush your pet before going to bed. Vanilla scented candles are a nice touch, too. Have everyone refer to your room as the "iPad".
• Every Friday night, have a sleepover with your clique. Make it a tradition--a weekly event that is uber-exclusive and can NOT be missed. Always make sure you always have something fun to do each week...decorating and bedazzling your jeans, prank phone calling celebrities, (a hot boy will do) an intense game of "what would you rather", etc.
• Have the hottest boyfriends, but never be a slut. This means not putting out until you're a junior in high school at least, and keeping it on the DL. Kissing is okay. Get the guy by being sly and seductive, and playing hard to get a bit. NEVER ever act desperate around a guy. They hate this; it's a major turn off. Make him chase you. No exceptions. Ever. This doesn't mean not flirting though--hint you like him by complimenting him occasionally and giving him your best "come hither" (non-creepy!) stare. Practice in the mirror if necessary. Don't let anyone know you like a guy until you're 100% positive he likes you back. This means not even telling your best friends. If everyone hears about your crush and he ends up not returning your affection, people will think less of you. Spill to your pet only.
• Purple is the official color of royalty. Therefore it's your favorite color. Wear it, love it, decorate everything from books and pens to your cell phone with it (purple rhinestones, of course!).
• Speaking of cell phones, you need one! It's the perfect way to stay updated on gossip and keep in contact with your friends. Make sure you have a texting plan so that you your clique can silently dish about stuff in **** detention, wherever! Cover it in Swarovski crystals and bring it everywhere you go.
• Be the first to do and have everything. Always. For example, having a boy girl party, wearing the newest Steve Madden flats, etc. If someone beats you to something and taking credit for their idea is absolutely impossible, roll your eyes and act as if it's the lamest thing you've ever seen or heard of.
• Get together a carpool with your clique. Taking the bus is so ew!
• Wear a charm bracelet with charms such as a shoe, Eiffel Tower, dog or cat, (whichever you have) star, and most importantly, a crystal-encrusted crown! Make sure the charm bracelet is gold, and never have any of the charms be silver (tacky much?). Buy it from Tiffany or Juicy Couture if you have the money.
• Always act bored even when something ah-mazes you. If you act too eager and excited about every little thing, your cool will be destroyed faster than you can say pretty committee.
• Shave your legs and armpits whenever necessary, and keep your upper lip and eyebrows perfectly waxed. I don't recommend tweezing your eyebrows yourself the first time; it's much too risky. Instead, have them done at a salon and maintain them yourself at home.
• Always have your fingernails and toenails perfectly manicured! I highly suggest a french tip for fingernails, because it's simple, ****, and coordinates so well with everything. Have them done at a fancy salon with your clique after school or on a weekend for a fun activity.
• Throw a fabulous party to increase your popularity. Invite everyone. Most occasions work--your birthday, Halloween, Valentine's Day, End of the Summer, etc. Come to think of it, you don't even really need an occasion! Just make sure you hire an ah-mazing party planner to help...A brilliant and mind-blowing theme, a DJ and dance floor, a wide variety of munchies, every single hot boy you know, and elaborate decorations are a must.
• You must always be prepared with a witty comeback for if, on some rare occasion, a wannabe insults you. One of my favorite Massie-****ones is, "Did I invite you to my barbecue?...Then why are you all up in my GRILL?" Consult the Clique books for some other great ones, or make some up yourself. Never let anyone get the best of you or think that they have won. Remember that YOU are in charge. YOU make the rules.
• It helps to have a profile on Myspace, Xanga, Blogger, or Livejournal (whatever everyone at your school has). This way you can easily keep tabs on the latest hook-ups, break-ups, fights and friendships going on, which is very important. A cute, girly layout, a few gorgeous pictures of yourself, and perhaps a brief survey is all you need. Oh, and remember to make it private! You don't want 40-year-old perverts stalking you...only add and talk to people you know.
• The magazines Teen Vogue, ElleGirl, and Lucky are your bible. Read them religiously.
• Another very important tip is to make sure you are seen at popular events at your school or community. You have to show everyone that you have a social life.
• Be witty and fast thinking with hilarious comebacks
• Most importantly never look YOUR best , look THE best.
• Go on MSN or other IM service every night to exchange gossip.
• Take time to decide on the right shoes. They make the outfit.
• Wash your clothes inside out and with gentle detergent to keep them looking new.
• Iron wrinklable clothes, to keep them looking fresh.
• Wash clothes less often in winter. It preserves color and prolongs the life of wools and cashmere.
• Wash your hair with good smelling shampoo, and use deoderant. Nobody likes someone who doesn't smell good.
• Stay on top with the season's latest fashions and looks to appear extra "on top" to your ****ates.

Warnings [edit]

• Be prepared to receive some backlash from the people that wish they were you. In other words, the jealous people. They may spread some pretty nasty stuff about you, but respond with something positively catty (your beta will help) to show them who's really the boss.
• There may be occasions where controversy arises in your clique. Like a power-trip, where a girl in your clique suddenly wants the throne. Start by putting her in her place by telling her off in the hallway (preferably with many people around). If she still doesn't get the hint, kick her out the group and recruit someone new. Chances are, she'll come crawling back, begging for forgiveness. Let her back in after a little while, and ditch the temporary.
• Many people will probably think you're a b*tch. But they'll still love you, and wish they were just like you (they'll love to hate you). This is inevitable if you want to be on top like Massie. You'll get used to it.
• Never be too friendly, you dont want people to think your just a nice person. Or get taken advantage of thats not how Massie would take it. Let people see the other side of you. People have to work hard to be your friend. Do you think they let kuh-laire in for free? Of course not. Play it hard. You will be accepted more!
• Dont ever say 'Whats up?' Unless you want to be ****fied as a loser. Except to your clique. They know you are Goddess so don't act LBR-ish but don't act too stuck up. ONLY to them. Otherwise act like the most popular girl in your grade. Cause you are abh-iously.
• Do't talk to the losers, druggies, or emo kids- your social standing will evaporate!
• Do not let any LBRs get ahold of your power! Never weaken your attitude and confidence. LBRs will think you are giving away you crown and they will abh-iously, with their "never been manicured, cheap hand creamed, dirty, slimy" hands whenever the chance.

How to Think, Look, and Act Just Like Massie Block

If you've even so much as glanced at a book from "The Clique" series by Lisi Harrison, chances are you've felt that pang of envy for--the one and only--Miss Block. Able to get whatever she wants at the snap of her perfectly manicured fingers, the beautiful and uber-confident Massie Block has the most popular and fabulous friends, a wardrobe to die for, and a hot Briarwood boyfriend. We know you'd give anything just to be more like her. And why can't you? Start reading this article and you'll be just like her.

Have confidence! This means not pointing out your flaws to others. (Example: "My hair is so frizzy today!" or "Is this top cute? 'Cause I'm not sure...")

1. Have good posture and always look straight ahead, (never at the ground) and do not ever let people know when you feel unsure of yourself or your opinions. Never appear to be upset. Don't cry or make comments about how "your life sucks.", because if you want to be Massie, your life does not suck. You must always make it seem as if you have everything together and that your life is perfect, or else people will never idolize you. Even if you're really embarrassed about something, you have to just laugh it off and forget about it! If you don't make a big deal about it, chances are that nobody else will. You can never show weakness!
2. Try to make your hair straight, extremely shiny, brunette, and about shoulder length, if at all possible. However, there can be a Massie with extremely shiny red wavy hair, so just try to keep it glossy. Massie also has sparkling amber eyes and wonderful skin. You don't have to look exactly like this(always choose the look that works best on you), but you must always try to appear your best.
   
   • Get super shiny hair by using shine shampoo, (such as Citré Shine, Pantene, or Brilliant Brunette Shine-Release) shine serum, gloss treatment (you can get one thats a bit like a hair coloring kit. They usually sell them at drug stores and salons. They can come in clear (which is just gloss, actually). They could also come in tinted (which is just gloss that makes your hair a little colored). Another option would be to use spray (know your limits -- don't use too much or else your hair can look at tad bit greasy). Remember to rinse out your conditioner with cold water (as cold as you can stand it, or even more if you're daring!). Try to take the time out of you day and use it to consult hair magazines or a hair stylist to find the best cut for your face (but try to not go shorter than shoulder length, if you can!). A tip is to use a touch of olive oil for an inexpensive shine booster. Use it only on your ends.
   • If you desire amber brown eyes (and you don't have them), experiment with color contacts. Remember that there can be a blond-haired and blue-eyed Massie out there, too!
   • Achieve your best skin by washing your face every night with a good cleanser (Clean & Clear works great) and exfoliating and moisturizing daily. If you have dry skin, wash your face once per day and use more moisturizer; if you have more oily skin, still use moisturizer and wash your face more often. When you're drying your face, remember to pat, not rub (rubbing pulls the skin and causes wrinkles, which is considered unattractive). If you have bad acne that cannot be fixed by this skincare regimen, see a dermatologist and ask them for suggestions and possible treatments. Try to not wash your hair more than once a day. Doing so has the potential to dry out your skin and make it raw. We're trying to avoid that.
   • For make-up, be careful not to wear too much (after all, you want to be like Massie -- not Nina!). Wear an eyeshadow in a natural color like brown, gold, or beige(or whatever subtle color compliments your eye color). Thinly line your eyes carefully with a black or brown eyeliner, and add a coat or two of black mascara that thickens and lengthens - or mix and match the two! Conceal all of your blemishes with the right shade and amount of concealer -- not too much! It's also very important to remember your lip gloss! Massie would never leave home without hers! Buy a variety of different good-smelling flavors and bring few of them anywhere you go.
   • Make sure your teeth are bright-white and perfect. If your teeth are crooked, use "Invisiline" rather than getting braces (It saves you the trouble of having bad memories of being called "Brace Face".). Whiten your teeth with laser procedures or Crest Whitestrips. Brush at least twice a day with whitening toothpaste, and remember to floss! Not only is this common sense, you'll feel better in the long run for just 3 minutes taken out of your day.
3. Have fabulous wardrobe. After all, Massie would be nothing without hers! Be a true fashion girl and wear expensive clothes from stores/designers like BCBG, Coach, Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, Seven For All Mankind, Guess, Lacoste, C&C California, Marc Jacobs, Joie, True Religion, etc... (But if you just can't afford these designers, thats perfectly alright!). However, if you do not have the money and do want designer clothes for half off, or more, shop at clearance sales/outlets/ loehmanns for basics like a really fab designer purse, a wool coat, zip-up leather knee high boots, ballet flats/kitten heels, and a fall / sprng blazer. Make sure these are ****c fabrics, try to keep these basics trend-free, so you can look in the moment. Another tip is to buy very well fitting but solid colored clothes free of 'special effects' and sassy them up with inexpensive jewelry. If you like graphic tees, get 2 and pref by junk food. Get four pairs of jeans in these colors: dark wash navy, light wash grey,dark wash,good old blue. Go for straight leg, no flare no skinny taper. Just straight from the hip or the low riseAlways dress to impress. Never leave the house in sweats and a T-shirt (unless you want to look like you don't care, which isn't the look a lot of people tend to like). Even if you can't afford super-expensive clothes, make sure to always look pulled together and stylish, with coordinated accessories and cute shoes. Try not wear clothes that look obviously last season or last year. For example, a well fitting suede/tweed jacket will always be chic, and never last year. Get a cute bookbag. A final note on inexpensive clothes: don't ever wear anything that looks like it is cheap. This means don't go for the Wal-Mart or Limited Too look when you can be buying low-priced (and way cuter) clothing from Forever 21 (but not from Wet Seal! Even if Kristen shops there, Massie still loathes it!). Oh, and no too tight or too big tacky clothing please. Wear stuff that fits you and looks hot. If you're not sure, get a second opinion. Try to see if you're parents will allow it if your underwear/thongs/bras are cute, too. If you can't wear thongs, opt for boy shorts in ultra pretty colors and with cute embellishments, it also banishes VPL. Stores like Victoria's Secret tend to have some nice selections. Honestly, people do notice in the locker room when you're changing. Never wear the same outfit more than once every two weeks or more: if you double up, people will think that you are thrifty and don't have very many clothes...and we wouldn't want them to think that, would we? No.
4. Massie is the queen bee. Popular. Worshipped. And how does she do this? By looking fabulous, having the right attitude, and establishing her dominance by using intimidation. Get together a clique of the prettiest and most fashionable girls in the school, three-four others. Make sure you are their leader. Your beta (second in command) should be the most loyal. The other girls should also be loyal and reliable; make sure you have at least one nice-ish girl to keep the peace in your clique. If you don't all get along, you will never rule. It's all about unity. This doesn't mean you can't boss them around though--it's what Massie would do! Test the waters by starting off really nice, then gradually getting a bit harsher. If they stick with you, you'll know you have 'em forever. Lighten up a bit if they start to stray. Make sure people are somewhat scared/intimidated by you, so that you know they'll do whatever you want. Be totally snobby to the losers at your school (a.k.a. basically everyone outside your group). Chances are, you'll be so fabulous by then, it will only make them idolize you more.
5. You must be thin to maintain your social status! This means very little or no fatty/sugary foods like chips, soda, candy, fried chicken, pizza, etc. It's a tough sacrifice to make, but well worth it in the long run! Work out regularly on a treadmill, doing crunches, squats, or playing the specified sports below. Chew sugarless gum. Never be too skinny or develop an eating disorder. Not only will many rumors be circulated about you, but you could even die from it!
6. You'll need some awesome clothes, so be prepared to spend! Go online for shops not in your area and online discounts!

Hi. So yesterday [Friday] I was not on alot. I pretty much just watched this scary Lifetime movie yesterday. It wasn't that good though. Then I went to J.C. grandpa's wake. I felt bad. It was sad. After I came home and watched t.v. then last night i went to traversos, and my cousin bridget got to come with!!! i was sooo happy. sooo we had dinner and sat outside. there were like barely any cicadas. my cousin bridget's entire backyard is covered in them though!! then we went to the creamery and i got thisreally goodhot fudge sundae. they all got little baby cones, that were sooo cute. then as a surprise, bridget slept over!!! we watched the 8th grade video and watched friends. we had alot of fun!! then saturday, today bridget had to leave at 8! earlyyyyyy !!! cuz she had to go downtown. but yeahh it was a great time. today i had my drawing ****! my friend was there!! we have taken this ****for 6 years now!! so we had soooo much fun. we made frames and painted them and drew on them. it was meant to be a gift for father's day!! so i gotta put a picture in it still. but yeah i love my **** so then i came home and now i'm just hanging out. idk what i'm doing later.. xoxo lizzie
