I have the fan set right now at 100% using riva tuner. The fan on the side of my case is drawing air out right where my card is sitting. I have had this card for a year and a half, is it even possible to return it? I would have thought that option has long since past. Thanks for the quick responses!
Hey Guys,
I've had my XFX 8800GT for about a year and a half and it has always had issues. It came overclocked with the core clock at 670. I couldnt run any of my games as my computer would always crash. I underclocked it using riva tuner and has been working alright for the time being. The past few days have been quite warm and while playing mass effect my gpu temp (according to riva tuner) gets above 90 and crahses the computer after 10 minutes of playing. Apparently the fans that come with the 8800gt are poor.
Would the best solution at this time be getting a different heatsink/fan and installing it on the 8800? If so, what would you suggest? I'm not looking to spend alot for the fan since if the price starts getting too high, I might as well spend some more money on a better card that has decent stock cooling. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I have an old dell inspiron 600m laptop that is still working. It has recently started to run quite slowly and I want to restore it to its original status. I know you can hold down cntrl f11 on startup to start this process but so far that is not working. Does anyone know if I am using the right keys to do this? I would rather go through the restore process than having to find all the old disks. Thanks!
Hey all,
I have recently brought home some old computer parts to put together a computer that could play games for my dad. I have an ASUS A8N SLI socket 939 mother board, and AMD 3700+ for the processor, a geforce 7800gt a powersupply that works and everything else I need.
I have put computers together no problem before but I forgot to bring the motherboard cd that came with it. Will I be able to get what I need from the ASUS website. Would I need to download anything else and what would I need exactly. Thanks for the help.
Hey guys,
I am just about to purchase the logitec Z-5500 speakers and I was planning on getting a headset so that I can talk while playing counterstrike source. I am not going to be using them for anything else so I don't want to be spending a ton of money just to be able to talk in the one game. I was looking at these

I really don't know much about headsets so if there is a better one that I should get please let me know. I am getting my speakers from that website so please don't link me to a different site. I appreciate any advice. Thanks guys!
P.S. Sorry for not linking, I have not figured it out yet
Hey guys,
Well I ordered a bunch of new components, pretty much a new computer. I just received my new graphics card, a XFX 8800gt 512mb and my ultra xfinity 600 Watt power supply. So I went and installed them. Computer turns on. I installed the drivers for the card. 169.21 When I went to try Crysis to see what it can do I get into the game fine, but after a few seconds I get a whole lot of red on the screen and my computer freezes.
On the site I got the card from there were a couple people who said the card doesnt run stable at the 670 mhz core it comes overclocked at. I am running it currently with and AMD 64 3700+ with 2 gb of ddr 400 mhz ram. I am getting that upgraded once the shipment comes. If anyone has any ideas of what to do I would greatly appreciate it. I know the obvious response might be that the card is just defective.
I am hoping that I could try everything else before having to RMA it. Possibly reducing the core clock speed? Thanks for the help.
Might be a simple question, would you suggest buying vista at retail or OEM? Is the only advantage to retail being able to instal it on more than one computer? And if i buy it OEM then can i reinstal it on the same computer if i need to reformat?
The other big question would be should I get the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version? Is there any positive or negative performance issues one way or the other? And finally, since service pack 1 is due out soon (or so I've heard), should I wait to purchase vista till it comes packaged with the first service pack? Thanks for the help.
