Blog Post Number One

Allright, so I have a midterm tomorrow, and thus I'm procrastinating, and I figured this would be a good time to write my first blog entry. So, ya.....hi. Let me just kick this off by describing my current gaming situation.  I'm in university, and as such I lack the monetary resources to buy one of the new consoles. So if you're hoping to hear about what I think of new games, just stop reading.  Mostly I play xbox games, and when I'm not doing that i play snes roms.  I hope to pick up a new console this summer, though I haven't decided which one. I find all the bickering between console fans pretty disgraceful, and I tend not to get involved.  However, they say that a console is only as good as it's game library, and I'm slowly leaning towards a 360.

For any fans of the Elder Scrolls series out there, particularly Morrowind, I think I've found something pretty amusing. I was reading a book called "The Elf Queen of Shannara", by Terry Brooks.  I'd like to point out now that the book was first published  in 1992, 10 years before the release of Morrowind. Nor is this some obscure little novel, it's a NY Times Bestseller.  Anyways the book is about a girl who has to save a lost island of elves from evil demons and return the elves to the mainland and back into the world. Oh, and the island's name is Morrowindl....ya, Morrowind with an "l".  Oh, and there's a volcano in the middle of the island thats covering everything with ash.  Did I mention the island is full of elves?    I'm not accusing the writers at Bethesda of anything, I'm just saying that I laughed when I read the book.  Pick it up and see what you think, It's a decent read.

On a completely seperate note, i just finished running through a couple of the old FF games on my emulator, and I'm looking for something new, so if you have any good snes games to suggest, or more obscure rpg titles, let me know where to find them.

There, that killed off about 30 minutes.
