Body Building and Working out.

June 14, 2010

Have any of you every wanted to become a body builder? i know i didnt. but i know who did.. Arnold Schwartzenegger..

I just finished watching a speech arnold gave to some university graduate class of 2010. i only watched half of this 25 min speech since i didnt have the time to watch it all before my gf turned off on me. But what i have watched, he was quite funny. I wanted to finish watching it. but i dont have the time to finish.. only time to write blogs  . i watched it like a week ago... i found it thinking it would be boring or somewhat entertaining, and wow. it was very inspirational and entertaining at the same time. if you want to watch it, its on youtube.com and type in "Arnold Schwartzenegger 2010 Speech At Emory" or something along the lines. i watched it on some other site that had it in one part and not broken up into a couple of parts..

Anyways after watching this video it made me think of back when i use to work out a lot. and it was hard to keep motivated to keep in shape.. i always believed i was fat for some reason. because i was always a gamer nerd. and just sat around and played Sega, Snes, N64, and Ps2 for most of my pathetic life and got fat.. but when i graduated high school i got a job and then i bought my first Gym pass in the summer of 2006.. I started out working out 3-4 times a week. and be at the gym for about 1-3 hours.. more around 1 hour if i dont screw around.. but sometimes i would just sit on a bench in the field house and rest and watch the hot babes run by like a creep. and i would take a lot of breaks in between a lot of weight lifting. not really having a program of what i wanted to work on. just do everything lol... well i learned the hard way u cant just do everything, you get tired out and not enough will power to do all things.. although i had accomplished working on everything a couple of workouts. its just hard to keep it up every week. So i devised a list of what i needed to work on and what i should start out doing.. my list isnt amazing or anything but u want to see it here it is

-Start work out with a warm up of a jog around the track about 2-5 laps or use a treadmill and jog for 5-10 min depending on how i was feeling that day... somedays i had more energy than others.. i try to keep discipline. but its tough sometimes when u have no energy.

-do some stretching. stretch out using all stretches of my knowledge just using a mat on the floor. and hold all stretches for atleast 20 seconds.

-the start of the week (day 1) i would start out with upper body workouts such as chest, back, forearms, neck, biceps/triceps, and abs. I would normally always do abs workout every day regardless if i went to the gym or not. but at the start i couldnt do it everyday since i started to hurt... but after u work out your muscles so much it doesnt get sore after a workout. unless it was super intense.

Day 2 of the week. lower body workout such as calves, quads, hamstrings, then i would throw in a couple of upper body workouts whatever i felt like such as biceps or whatever didnt hurt.

then my schedule will go back to day 1. then back to day 2 throughout the week. So i had a Day 1 day 2 type of schedule.

-After completing one of the day 1 or day 2 workouts i would go for a jog for about 10-20 min or do 10-15 laps at the end of the session to close it out and sometimes i jumped on a machine such as an eliptical, stairmaster or bycicle. But i would always Do sprints at the end. i would try and sprint down the track then jog back to starting piont and do it again 10 times to use up any remaining energy i had to get the most cardio out of my workout. then walk a couple of laps to calm down the heart and body.

So that is my basic workout. but sometimes i would do stretches at the end of the workout.. heard somewhere the stretches at the start doesnt really do anything for a workout. but after a workout would accomplish more. It's hard to keep motivated to keep working out.. my motivations were at the begining i didnt want to be fat anymore. then after i accomplished that. My friend Adrian started to box me, and i would always win, but after he started working out he thought he could beat me easily so it had me fired up to workout even harder.. and i believe i worked out harder than i ever had when i had that motivation... and when i compared workouts with my friends my workout was far suprior to theirs and they couldnt even complete mine.. i felt satisfied... too satisfied that i let up on my intensity and i started to go less and less.. then i needed a new motivation and it was work out for this girl i liked since she was a health freak.. and it made me a health freak. i started to not eat junk food for like 2 months.. no pop, no pizza, fast food. or anything fatty.. man i went down to 160 and im normally 180.. and im 6'2 so that is kind of light lol...but after i discovered the girl i liked was a whore/slutty, i lost motivation and just stopped working out for a while..
