I;m not posotive but they can be used to upload photos for the photo channel, apparently you can save your save data on them...Im not sure thoiugh if you can save VC games to them...

A pink circle is classic and unique. Aswell Kirby has only been a successful franchise on portable consoles so not really mascot material. I would put Star Fox ahead of him aswell as Captain Olimar. and Captain Falcon for that matter...
I would never concider him an elite franchise for Nintendo. Nintendo has TLoZ, All Mario games, and Metroid as the big three. I would concider Kirby in the supporting class with Fox, Pikman ect. becuase non of them have had a excellent game like OoT or SMG.
