Lots of great mentions here, although I would make these changes: -Place Mega Man 2 at #4. Incredible replayvalue, excellent music and some cool and difficult bosses. -Place Teenage Mutant Hero/Ninja Turtles at #3(I live in Europe, and over here they call them the "Hero" Turtles). Why this game wasn't even mentioned is beyond me. The original Turtles-game came out on the NES a year or so before SMB 3, or at least it did so in Europe, and it was mostly a sidescrolling actionplatformer. The sublevels were typically situated in buildings or sewers, and the game let you travel between them yourself walking or driving on the street viewed from above. The game was huge, with 6 varied and challenging "worlds" to play. The graphics were crisp, and the fact that you could at any time change to another turtle gave the gameplay great depth. I especially remember being stuck on the swimming part of level 2. The feeling I got the first time I beat the clock and saved the dam is still one of my all time favourite gaming memories. It still plays well today, and stands out as one of the best licensed games ever made in any platform. I LOVE this game!
