I couldn't stand the studying any more so these two days I've taken an almost complete break from studying. I hope I won't live to regret it, but I'm really sick of it and can't wait for this week to be over.
At least my board is picking up quite a bit with a huge boost in posts in these two days, which is good.
Metroid Prime 2 FINALLY got here in the mail this weekend after being delayed in the mail for a whole month and a half. At least that means I'll be getting an extra copy of the game since the site I ordered it from has a 20-day limit on orders, which is very cool. I've only played it for a couple of hours, but I'm already itching to play it since it already seems fantastic, just what the doctor ordered for post-exam recovery.
The past week has seen me neglect the forums almost completely, mostly due to a lack of time with university mid-terms coming up. I've decided I'd better take some time off the forums until I've finished so that I'll be able to concentrate completely on studying.
So, until then (about mid-february) happy posting to all, and I hope to see you all soon again.
Those are the two matches yours truly will belucky enough to watch from the stadium next March 7th and 8th. :D My dad managed to get a free trip to both of them from this guy he knows who handily has his own travel agency and they organise trips to go watch football matches. This is the first time I'll be watching a Juve game live from the stadium, and what a way to start!!
In a few hours I'll be off to stay with my girl and a few friends in my aunt's flat for new year's eve so I won't be around the boards to post until Saturday.
So since I won't be here I'd just like to wish everyone a prosperous and happy new year!! :)
I got CoD Deluxe Edition today (basically it just means that it comes with it's expansion pack United Offensive) since I exchanged an Audioslave CD that my brother bought me (I already had it but he didn't know) for christmas.
Yeah, I know, it's kind of late and it's yet another FPS that I've got to play throughm but it was great value plus first impressions of the game are good. It takes a bit of getting used to after having played HL2 for the past two weeks, but for a game that was released last year it holds up pretty well.
I've just (finally) finished Half Life 2 this morning. One of the best gaming experiences I've had in ages has finished, and I must say it was thoroughly satisfying, and yet it left me begging for more. In fact as soon as the end credits finished rolling, I started a new game all over again. I'll start working on a review soon, and be sure it's going to be a positive one.
Here's what I think of the game in short:
- The design is superb, probably the best of any game out there today. - In-game physics is also superb, which makes game world feel very real. A remarkable technical achievement. - Graphics are also great since the game looks good even on lower-spec machines. It does suffer from random stuttering way too much though, which ruins the immersion of the game sometimes. - The story is decent, but some more detail would have been appreciated. - I hate Steam. It seems as though it kept trying to find ways to ruin my experience with the game. I tried not to let it ruin my time spent with the game, but that was sometimes impossible.
For all the problems Steam caused while playing, the joys this game has given me still manage to outweigh it. I'd reccommend anyone with a decent PC to pick this title up and start playing it. NOW!!1 :P
I'm currently going through an overdose of First Person gaming. While I'm ripping through Half Life 2, I still have Doom 3 to play after that, and I ordered the Far Cry and (finally) MP2: Echoes! I hope they don't take too long to get here since I really can't wait to get stuck into Echoes.
Half Life 2 is completely owning me right now. I'm quite busy with all the assignments I've got to do for University, but I still manage to squeeze in a good 1 to 2 hours of gaming every day, and I must say that it's definately the best FPS I've ever played. I've still got a long way to go though since I only just got to Nova Prospekt. :?
I've developed a habit of using sigs of games I'm currently playing, so since I'm currently ripping through HL2 I couldn't help making a new one today:
Well, I finally got down to writing my first reader review. I finished Chrono Cross today and I didn't think I'd write the review so fast, but here it is: http://www.gamespot.com/ps/rpg/chronocross/reader_review.html?id=2777454. I tried keeping it short since I think that detailed reviews should be left in Gamespot's hands. Anyways, any thoughts, comments and even (constructive) criticism will be greatly appreciated. Some trusts would be nice too. ;)
