Try to stick to off name brands like epiphone youll call me crazy but gibson guitars are pricy, but some smaller copies worck. I have an epiphone SG, and it looks cool and sounds great, and not a bad put together(doesnt fall apart, and not all messed up)

If you find a big name guirtar you like, just fool around with the cheaper copies too, caus they look the same and somtimes work just as well.
