Due to GDC and some other recent development we decided it would be best to push back the Kickstarter campaign a couple weeks. The new date is April 1st :)

@JUDGE-PYRO: Thanks Pyro. Well there is a lot more planned if the Kickstarter campaign is successful. I have my own ideas as well as the fans with theirs. We listen to them all and implement the ones that make the most sense. So far the response from gamers has generally been great. Many comparing it to Sonic, some comparing it to Vectorman, even some comparing it to the game Uniracers!

I can definitely see the similarities, tho none of them were done on purpose. But you could say if those 3 games had a baby, this is what it 'could' look like. :p

@PredatorRules: Sonic is an interesting thought. It's personally up there in my favorite games of all-time (Genesis versions). There's more ideas planned and we're also open to the community for ideas, but only if the Kickstarter gets funded can we do that. Thanks for the message :)

I just recently jumped on board with l1games, I'll be honest and say I'm trying to get the word out there as I think a project like this deserves it. I've been a long time GameSpot member. If it wasn't for my involvement with the GameSpot community then this is something I wouldn't be doing right now. GS was my first game site and forum that I became a regular at. It's changed so many times since then and I think that's great. It's taking me some time to get used to the new design, but it's growing on me.

'DYNABOT is an endless platformer designed to make you jump, run, dash, swing, skate, surf, switch, hover, shoot and more!'

DYNABOT's Kickstarter will go online on 15th March 2014!

WATCH THE NEW IN-DEPTH GAMEPLAY TRAILER:

DYNABOT - an extraordinary robot, held together by pure energy, which was secretly constructed by the good-natured scientist Ishida Yamamoto in order to protect the world, should it ever come to a misfortune. With his programmed principles and the ability to think neuronally DYNABOT becomes aware of the fact that he has been made for a special reason. And just as it has to come, weird aliens appear.

Kickstarter Teaser:

Dynabot breaks the monotonous endless genre with 4 aspects:

> although simple to learn, nevertheless complex like a real platform game.

> instant change of different worlds with various types of gameplays

> special rooms with mini-games within the main game

> winding platforms surrounded by beautiful environments

The goal is to free the earth from an invasion of weird aliens! Liberate the seven continent. Encounter abandoned places, in which the alien bosses have been hiding. Use portals to clean up all the places from the invasion of the aliens and go for an endless run to beat your own or your friends´ score!

FEATURES:

• Find energy cells to activate portals on the go and throw DYNABOT into different worlds with different gameplay styles. For example, fly in low gravity over the atmosphere or surf your way through an abandoned city across the ocean.

• Play mini-games on the go! Run into different rooms and play various Mini-Games. Receive bonus points to increase the chance of liberation.

• Let DYNABOT use his dash-combos and bounce off of stronger enemies and obstacles. Strike back again and repeat your dash on the ground, as well as in the air, until you finally break through their defenses. Also use dash-combos to save DYNABOT from falling into the abyss.

• Keep DYNABOT in shape by doing air tricks with his surf- or skateboard, to achieve special air-trick bonuses.

• Play the entire game along with its mini-games with only two buttons!

• Major updates will bring new worlds, mini-games and characters to expand the scope of the game more and more.

start your own site

Chris_Williams

Actually me and my partner have been developing a gaming site for the past several months. But it's going to be different from other game sites out there now, feel free to track the progress on twitter--tho development has been slow but steady so far. https://twitter.com/danrhodenizer

Most game sites are just copies of one another.  And the bigger ones get typical access to early reviews, previews, etc., and again, just copy one another.  Nobody wants to say anything bad for fear of losing that access.  There are smaller, quirky sites out there that don't really get any recognition and don't have access to a lot of early stuff.  But yeah, basically if you go to one site you've gone to all the big ones.

As for journalism style versus blog style, I tend to not really care how it's written as long as it is engaging and someone isn't passing off someone else's news as their own.

Especially all the top players--reviews that are rushed out and not being analyzed properly and falling into the hype. (BioShock Infinte) amazing story, alright gameplay. Previews that they're not allowed to say anything bad about.

Are we in need of a new gaming website that does something fresh?

experience_fade
BioShock Infinite was an amazing game, I'm sorry that you don't feel that way. I don't think there is any real lack of originality among reviews with the popular gaming websites, however, I will say I'm bothered by the most recent GameSpot website change. They removed Awesome User Blogs from their front page, and with it, the most unique aspect to their website. To allow user contribution like that on the front page was incredible, and certainly original. Now that it's gone, it's hard to differentiate each website's features themselves.

A good game with an amazing story and atmosphere you mean.

I saw the thread earlier, so I thought I'd start the petition. https://www.change.org/en-CA/petitions/microsoft-reboot-the-battletoads-franchise#
