I failed to mention.. I have a 8800 GT and a dual core CPU...I know.. SUPER fail..lol... sO i was looking at getting better hw so that may be the problem. I need to buy a power supply first as mine burned out.. I have just found that VISTA is very slow to load/shut down. I have tried to stop all the "other" services except for the needed. I will probably go Win 7 64 bit home. Thanks for all the feedback

I am making to change from VISTA(thankfully.. as VISTA is Crashing my system mulitple time) to Win 7. I was looking at the home vs prof version. I looked at the Microsoft site to see the difference and for what I do(basic stuff.. not a ton of peer to peer) I think Win 7 home would be fine..Anyone have any thoughts about the two?

My machine has been shuting off intermittenly. It got so bad that themotherboard was not turning on. So I thought the board was bad. I bought another baord and while the board does turn on, neither the monitor nor the keybopard/mouse are working. So I hooked up the PS3 to the monitor and the monitor does indeed work. I then took off the video card, and hooked up a vga cable(as the motherboard had on board graphics) and the monitor/keyboard/mouse still would not work. So I took out the memory and the motherboard did not beep to indicate that the memory was not in place. I then took the CPU off the board and nothing worked.

Since I isolated all the parts, the only other component left is the power supply. I am thinking that is the problem. What does everyone think?

I am finally getting rid of my tube tv... and I am looking at a 46" Samsung model 650 or 750. I have read very good things about them. I also also getting a PS3 slim. What does everyone think about the TV? Has anyone had an experiences with this particle model?

Thanks,

Mike

I am looking to getting a new slim as a game/Blu-ray station. How does the blu-ray side of the PS3(video/sound quality) compare to the most recent crop of blu-ray players out there. What has been ur experiences with the player?

Thanks,

Mike
