An Aussie Legend Dead

On the 4th of September 2006 Steve Irwin, known as The Crocodile Hunter, died while shooting a Documentary in Queensland when he was stung by a Stingray. People believe he jumped onto the creature and it stabbed him in the chest with its sting on the end of its tail. They are normally very humble creatures but they would do anything to protect themselfs. There have only ever been 2 recorded deaths by Stingrays.

The death of Steve has shocked the whole of the world and even countries that don't even speak English are talking about Steve's death.

At the Australia Zoo in Queensland people from all over the state and nation are coming and placing flowers at the entrance of the Zoo. It's becoming more of a shrine for Steve than a Zoo.

I did get to see him when I was on holiday last year. We were at the Crocoseum in the Australia Zoo watching the Crocs Live. Steve wasn't feeding the crocodile but he was watching the other bloke feed it. You could hardly see him but my brother spotted him in the corner. So we taped him watching the crocs for more than 10 minutes! He even looked at the camera!

Steve was a great Aussie bloke and was always known for his famous word 'Crikey!' Any animal he saw with sharp teeth he loved it the most or he would say "Crikey! Have a look at this beauty!" I honestly loved Steve and I think the whole world did too. :)

We'll always remember Steve as a great Aussie bloke who was passionate about wildlife. :)
