@Nolakk No my friend, I'm afraid you are not. For our discussion I will reveal that I own myself a good gaming pc and a ps3.
I will also swear by my honour that I'm not partial to any of the systems. I enjoy gaming for the experience, graphics just make things nicer, when they can.
I strongly disagree with your comment regarding the graphical differences between consoles and PC.
I'm inclined to believe that Yearli's declarations are relative to that difference, meaning that crysis 3 will be maxing out the consoles so that graphical differences between them and the PC are minimal.
And while I believe that some games do have minor differences, ie, ports, the ones you mentioned are very far from that reality. Having played crysis, I feel that I'm well able to refute your saying, as well as your thoughts regarding BF3. Especially in this case since I've had the recent opportunity to compare both cases (Ultra in PC and ps3).
@Nolakk My good sir, if your possessions are, in fact, the ones you mentioned, I'm afraid that, based on your experience, you are lacking a critical item...
@TheMadSpin @001011000101101 It's hard to hit anyone emotionally. It's not about that. It's about thinking before you act, instead of brainlessly walking by a hail of bullets trying to get a lucky potshot. Tactics like these are unacceptable in a game that is trying to portray combat operations in a mature way.
@001011000101101 What i'm trying to say here is that death is too underated in most modern fps, specially the mainstream ones. waiting 1 hour to respawn is surely boring. However, the idiotic combat behaviour most people display is caused by these "fun" mechanics.
I'm not saying that games shouldn't be like that. There's a place for every game out there. What I'm saying is in accordance with Tom: in a game that is striving to be authentic, following the exploits of tier 1 operators, portraying death, a soldier's greatest fear, in such a childish way for "fun" purposes is contradictory. There is no punishment in getting killed in these modern FPS! Games that are portraying war, bringer of death and destruction, are forgetting that core element, for "fun".
Look, to each, his own...
But there's one thing that should be clear to every developer: don't claim to be what you're not. And I believe that is where Tom is trying to get at.
I don't think Greg understood what Tom was saying...
One thing is for sure, war games handle death in a very poor way...
For instance another war simulation game/sport: in airsoft, depending on the rules, when you get killed you might take hours to respawn, or not even respawn at all. And 1 bullet is enough to kill you. And the game is fun, even with the high penalty that comes with death.
The MTAR is not the same weapon that you've shown. At 0:43 you are showing us a CTAR, which is the carbine version of the TAR-21, hence the short outer barrel. The M in MTAR stands for MICRO, so what we'll be having is a Micro-Tavor. at 4:56 you can see the player using a MTAR, and it's quite noticeable that the handguard isn't even slightly similar to the one featured in the CTAR. Just so you know...
Isn't air rivals the same as space cowboy online, but from another developer? I mean, from what i read here it's exactly the same...even the ship in the image is the same as SCO's A-Gear
