[QUOTE="Ibacai"][QUOTE="tfgyhtryrfgdsft"]I disagree on everything you just said. FPS have always told you what to do or where to go, it's just a matter of how that is done. Backtracking, keys, secret rooms, etc. They all amount to the same thing except they are less refined and rely more on someone walking the same areas and killing the same guys to find something that was missed. Nowadays it's more about moving forward then back. That would be the change. Oh, and HL2 has better puzzles and secret areas then Duke Nukem 3D. So how is the evolution with actual hardware? Looks good here.wrong fps evolved for worse.... now it's the game tells you what to do/go.
duke nukem 3d you had puzzles and crap, hidden area's to find.
duke nukem 3d is far above the pile of crap you call fps today.

The fps now are way too scripted, you played the single player once and it's same crap over and over lol, duke nukem 3d wasnt scripted as much as todays crap.
duke nukem 3d you had to explore levels/kill enemys to find key cards to progress and sometimes puzzles, or combination locksor whatever.
that's what made fps fun exploring levels and finding new area's, secret areas.
the fps now, like call of duty it's like a oylmpic race start to finish lol no exploration, just follow little linear path/shoot game ends yay.
half life 2 level design sucks ass seriously, 3drealms is much better
