At somepoint, Wii will begin to lose all of it's casual gamers, after all of the possible minigame motion controls have been dealt with. I beleibe that at this time, nintendo will have no choice but to completely refigure the wii's online capabilities, Stock up on games for the hardcore gamer, and will most likely make a halo esq FPS of their own. Im not sure when this will happen or how drastically the trend will switch, but i am confident we will see more quality shooters on wii in a few years.
Galaxy is an easy choice for game of the year, and greatly beats out other games on wii like Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. Although I must say, that the fact that corruption didnt even get nominated for wii's best game is a little disturbing. I mean come on I didnt even like wario ware, and up untill galaxy is was tied for highest rated wii game. ?!?!?!
Well the longest game, and the best game can be different. The best overall package is obviously Super Mario Galaxy. I have collected all 120 stars and that took me a little more than 40 hours (but I havent collected them all with Luigi yet). But if you are into Fire Emblem (I am), then Radiant Dawn can last you up to 50 or 60 hours. As for me being a perfectionist, I am STILL playing Fire Emblem and have been for 70+ hours. And as you stated, Zelda is also incredibly long, and I have probably played it for about 80 hours. So I hope this helps.
Oh boy looks like someone stumbled along sadness again. When I heard about this game in 06 I was absolutely thrilled, because it seemed like it would be a different uniqe experience on the wii. Well as time passed developer Nibris only released a few concept arts. I have emailed Nibris, only to receive a Happy Haloween reply 4 or 5 moths later. The only light that I can see that sadness has, is the reply from the email I sent to their reps at Fog studios. They quickly replied and told me that the game was alive and well but could not go into details due to law. Something still smells fishy here to me, but mabey we will see sadness in late 2009 you never know.
Battalion Wars 2 is an extremely fun game that I would recommend to any wii owner. You may actually enjoy bwii more if you havent played the first one, because it does not build upon Battalion wars 1 very much and fans might be dissapointed. I think you will really enjoy this game, and I hope to see you online!
