What I want games to improve on in the future

-Better story telling and characters...or just don't even try. Example: Gears of War 2. Epic tried to take the game more seriously by building upon Dom's search for his missing wife. They didn't succeed in making me care though, and it came off really half assed and silly. It would be great if they'd just go full on over the top, the giant worm that was sinking entire cities was a great start. That was hilariously awesome.

-More immersive/open/creative level design. Sorry, but i'm going to use Gears as an example again, even though i enjoy those games a lot, I have some problems with them. Games like Gears just feel like a bunch of mini arenas that i'm being funneled through one after another. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, but it's just not something I find very engaging. Games like Half Life 2, Resident Evil 4, and Metroid Prime don't feel like this. They make me feel like i'm in an actual environment. They're immersive and draw me in with their level design. I'd like more games that do this.

-More interactive level design/destructibility. I'm not asking to be able to completely level buildings, I just want a little more interactiveness to game environments, like Crysis for example.

-More gameplay variety/better pacing. Spice things up, I don't want to be shooting the whole time, look at Half Life 2, Valve mixes things up thoughout that game. The pacing is perfect.

-Better body language and animations. Bioware games seem to suffer from this disease, the characters voice acting doesn't match the body language and it comes off very akward looking.

-Stop using cutscenes for things that I could be playing myself!

Alright, those are my demands devs.

Happy New Years! :]
