I studied to become a 3d game artist. I just graduated from college a few months ago and have already worked on a few independent games. The only thing I have to say is that making games is very hard work. The pay is great but you won't have the free time to spend the money. If you're going to take classes to become an artist, make sure you take many 3d modeling and texturing classes, or in other words Game Art classes. Don't get confused with Graphic Design. That is a whole other field. Make sure you know you're programs such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, XSI, Photoshop, Mudbox or Z Brush. Making mods for counter strike, Unreal Tournament and Call of Duty 4 is a good start. Once you figure out what you're good at, focus more on that. The point is to try to be better than the rest in skill. Even a degree in game art would help a lot when finding jobs.

But the one thing that everyone forgets about is, if you have a boyfriend, girlfriend, wife or husband, make sure they know what you're getting into. Doing art or programming for games takes a lot of time. So if the other person has no idea what it takes, then it will usually end up in separation. oh snap!!!

I've been gaming since the original Nintendo. I still play my DS Phat along with all my friends who range between the ages of 21 - 30. I even turned my love for gaming into a career. Now I enjoy making them as much as I enjoy playing them. I'm 21 by the way, not as old as many gamers out there. Even my xbox live friends list is full of adults who still game.

Well there could be a good chance that Metal Gear Solid 4 could come to 360. Many people are saying that it won't. But have you ever looked closely at the cover of the promotional dvd that you get when you pre order MGS4? Below Snake you see a bunch of silhouettes of in game weapons, characters from previous games, ammo, and consoles that metal gear has been on. If you look closely, you can see a silhouette of a PSP, PS3, Gamecube, and a Xbox 360. There might lie the clue that Metal Gear Solid 4 may end up on 360 consoles. I wouldn't be surprised if it ever came out on the 360. All gaming companies want to make money. Porting a game to another console is just putting more money in their pocket. Sorry if the picture is too small. it's the biggest I could find. I circled where you can see the consoles. I first noticed this by looking at the poster size version.

Wow I never realized how many adult DS gamers were really out there. We should start a friend code topic so that we have people to play with when at the airport, coffee shop, or at home:)
