AQWBlaZer91's Top 10 Countdown: The Top 10 Worst PlayStation 2 games

The PlayStation 2 is home to so many great games excited but it's not without the system being contaminated by a lot terribly made games. Many of these bad games came from developers releasing long awaited games that turned out to be very disappointing while others were just horrible examples of cheap cash ins and desperate attempts to get sequels out the door. These are the worst of the worst that was unleashed on the PlayStation 2.

Rules:

Games released in Europe (My Country) are counted

Games that are considered as proper games are counted

10: Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness

Developer: Core Design

No Caption Provided

Lara Croft has had great fantastic adventures on the original PlayStation but however made an awful transition to the PlayStation 2. Sure by the time it got to the fifth the series was starting to go stale but however when the next Tomb Raider game came out which was for the PS2 it became a seriously bad game which unfortunately passed the franchise to Crystal Dynamics. The Angel of Darkness had Lara gain evidence of her innocence for something she did not do. The game was heavy criticized for the list of bugs, bad controls, horrible stealth sections and also RPG mechanics which involved Lara getting stronger by opening doors. It's a betrayal of what the Tomb Raider franchise stood for.

9: The Simpsons Skateboarding

Developer: The Code Monkey

No Caption Provided

The Simpsons have had a series of games which weren't all that good and The Simpsons Skateboarding is one of those games. In the game the developers tried to go the Tony Hawk route before Tony Hawk lost his boarding tricks years later which unfortunately led to a very unpolished skateboarding game. The game had very bad graphics, poorly recorded music and sound, bad controls with a proper lack of skateboarding tricks and it's also noted for the amount of glitches it has. This is obviously one of the laziest cash ins anyone can make for a license.

8: Guncom 2 (Also known as Death Crimson OX)

Developer: ECole

No Caption Provided

This cursed game was originally in Arcades before it was released on the Dreamcast and eventually on the PlayStation 2 which got the name change. The game is Light Gun Shooter clone of the House of the Dead games where players fought against ugly looking androids and mutants to stop the SMO from ruling the world. The game's story had no voiced dialogue and plus it's also laughable. The shooting was terrible and the PS2 port had slightly worse graphics and lastly glitches.

7: America's 10 Most Wanted (Also known as Fugitive Hunter: War on Terrorism)

Developer: Black Ops Entertainment

No Caption Provided

The developers at Black Ops Entertainment unleashed a game where you had to hunt down the most wanted terrorists like Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. While it lets take on real life terrorists the game is noted for being both a weak first person shooter and an uninspired fighting game, that's right you fight boss battles in a fighting game style fashion. It makes you wonder what they were even going for in the first place. It also had dated graphics and very bad sound. It at least contained tracks and cameos from Hip Hop group called So Solid Crew but even they can't save this atrocious mess.

6: Bad Boys II (Also known as Bad Boys Miami Takedown

Developer: Blitz Games

No Caption Provided

The Bad Boys II game was released co-inside with the film featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. I already mentioned this on my worst movie licensed games list. The game has nothing more then plenty of senseless swearing, bad voice over, terrible controls and targeting and glitches galore.

5: London Cab Challenge

Developer: Phoenix Games

No Caption Provided

Pheonix Games unleashes games in a budget fashion and end up looking rather unfinished plus also releasing games that offers nothing more then a minutes worth of terribly written story and badly designed minigames. Those won't count but what will count is one of those games when it isn't a minigame feast with some Disney characters. London Cab Challenge is the best of the worst from the company. It's a driving game with bad physics and very delayed controls, and lastly the graphics look terrible and the textures have a seizure and this game come out in 2006 which is unacceptable cause every game at that time looked far better then this trash.

4: Little Britain The Video Game

Developer: Revolution Studios

No Caption Provided

The entertaining adult comedy sketch became targeted for a launch on a video game console and what fans of the show got was a minigame mess. I already mentioned on my Top Ten Worst TV Licensed Video Games how terrible and just how boring many of the minigames are. It's a game you shouldn't play for a few chuckles or laughs. Watch the show and stay away from this abomination.

3: Charlie's Angels

Developer: Neko Entertainment

No Caption Provided

Charlie's Angels the game was so bad Sony never wanted this on the PS2 outside of the UK considering it's a very degrading game. It has awful controls, a really bad camera, ladders which takes like minutes to climb, annoying granting sounds and an indecent moment at the start which is rather disgusting. PEGI even rated this mess a 7+ for players in the UK which is just horrifying for any parent that even witnesses this terrible excuse of a game.

2: WWII: Soldier

Developer: Midas Interactive Entertainment

No Caption Provided

I already reviewed this and said that this is one of the worst FPS games to be released on the PlayStation 2 and I can only give you my symphony if you ever played through this garbage like I did. The first levels of the game are stealth focused missions where you're allowed to get spotted and the stealth sections are horrible, the missions where you can shoot your way through are terrible because of the bad controls. You can also add sub par graphics, really bad sound and lastly the game only has 7 stages which be beaten in minutes as long as the game doesn't crash up on you. It's amazing how this broken mess of a game got a release on the PSN store.

Now since there are plenty of other terrible PlayStation 2 games here some dishonourable mentions alongside some truly disappointing games. Some of them aren't in anyway bad games they were games that ended being disappointing for what they were promised for. There will be no explanation for the disappointing games selected.

1: The Sniper 2

Developer: Best Media

No Caption Provided

I fought London Cab Challenge was bad, I fought Little Britain The Video Game was awful, I fought Charlie's Angels was terrible and I almost fought WWII: Soldier was considered to be one of the worst games on the PlayStation 2. Well they are very bad games but they don't compare to the abomination that is The Sniper 2. Published by Mideas Interactive the same guys behind the horrible WWII: Soldier this game follows Harry a former Firefighter who has to snipe down an organisation who is handling a bio weapon called Tacklmacain, yeah I honestly couldn't come up with a name like that if I tried. The game is nothing then watching laughably bad cutscenes, horribly made graphics, the worst voice acting performance ever heard in a video game and doing what else sniping. You can easily see what the game has to offer just from watching videos on Youtube so that hopefully prevents you from spending pennies on a physical copy or about £3 on a PSN digital copy. It's not just an example of badly designed game done on the cheap but an example for anyone to dare re-release a game for a newer system as a download which makes this horrid gem the worst game ever made for the PS2.

There are still many terribly made PS2 games out there so tell me in the comments what PS2 games that you regret buying.
