With the Summer Gaming Showcases coming to a close it is that time again to announce what had the best gaming showcase and the worst gaming showcase this year. So what got the showcase awards this year? Well, that was easy for me to pick out.

Easily the worst of the Summer Gaming Showcases was the Sony PlayStation State of Play Showcase that took place at the end of May 2024. There were plenty of things that was bad about the showcase from plenty of previously announced games to showing PC ports of Until Dawn and God of War Ragnarök which required PlayStation Login Accounts to play them on PC. There just weren't many major big game announcements aside from Astro Bot for the PS5 which did show off promising gameplay with the DualSense Controller. Lastly the gameplay they showed off for Concord was not very good and didn't look like it stood out from other hero based First Person Shooters. So, it really sucked really hard for Sony to have a terrible showcase.
Best Gaming Showcase: Nintendo Direct Showcase June 2024

Nintendo without a doubt delivered a Nintendo Direct Showcase that had a game for everyone and their showcase took everyone's expectation and set it on fire. The moment they threw their first game announcement with Mario & Luigi Brothership you knew that Nintendo Direct was ready to light everything up on fire. Their announcements of Dragon Quest I, II & III HD-2D Remakes hyped up everyone like crazy, Perfect Dark the Nintendo 64 masterpiece returns back on the Nintendo Switch Online Service, Marvel VS Capcom Collection took all fighting game fans for a ride, Ace Attorney Investigations finally gets announced for an English release and a new Zelda game where you actually play as Zelda in a unique take on the formula. To top the WHOLE Nintendo, Direct off after a long, long wait we got to see a new trailer for the upcoming Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and hype train for that was unreal and it just looks so good to be true. So, Nintendo had without a doubt one of their best direct showcases with a game that was for everyone to see.
