Game Review: Wizard 101 2009/08/24

Hello, everyone. Today I'm reviewing a game called Wizard 101: Start: Wizards 101 puts you right into the action not too long before you just get started! After Master Ambrose and his owl tell you how to move around, a sudden problem occurs: Malistaire Drake, the evil dreadful brother of a Myth teacher in Ravenwood: Cyrus Drake, comes out of no where to challenge Ambrose. But wait, you're a Wizard, too! Master Ambrose teaches you how to play in battles. Customization: It is very rare (in my opinion) that you will see somebody running about in the same type of outfit. There are so many things to choose from. At the beginning of the game, there are only a couple of faces, hair styles, and colors to choose from; but after you see how many things you can get that sort of puts that aside. They make sure that everyone on every level, looks cool. Payment: This game has options of how you can pay, and you can probably play as long as you want with out playing. BUT, they do a very good job in bribing you, once you get to those quests that require you to go certain places that are blocked. You can either: Subscribe Pay with Crowns to get in. Find more about these payments on their official site! Controls: VERY easy to control. The colors, buttons, and descriptions can get overwhelming at times, but once you know what they mean, it's not really big of a deal. You can control how bright the screen is, what is/ is not displayed on the screen, and all other necessities. Game play: You're a Wizard who is becoming stronger and stronger as the game goes on. The cards used in various battles are found to be very funny to those who play. There are some cards that little kids might find funnier, other cards teens, and some adults (NOT meaning inappropriate) Communication: Can be VERY difficult to communicate with people with the filtering that they have. Of course EVERYWHERE especially games on the internet, there are ridiculous people, online predators, and people who are just plain creepy and or stupid, but you can definitely see that they did their best to make it safer for kids. Storyline: ...Well I don't want to spoil it for you! I'm not even sure yet! If you keep playing the story gets bigger and bigger! Graphics: Very good! Although I'd love it if you had the scroll zoom of Rappelz Epic 4, it is overall very good! The graphics tend to remind me of Spyro. The game in it's random things to pick up, such as: a pile of sticks or wood, remind me a lot of Free Realms. (Another pretty good MMO (Massive Multi player Online game)) Age Range: They say it's for 10-12, and some say that they'd recommended it for 10-106! I agree with them! Lagging(Meaning: skipping, causing delaying, or slowness of the computer and game): Only if there are more than 20 characters in the same place, otherwise, your computer shouldn't have any problems at all. (Except for interruptions. if you are logged into AIM, any other instant messengers, or are expecting any software update reminders: I suggest you wait and let them load. Like any other running program, this game does not do very well with being interrupted by such things) Download: Very simple. Although, there can be some problems with logging in depending on how your computer is. Violence: Lol, of course there is going to be some violence, you can't expect a game with battling to not have violence. No, there is no blood spurting everywhere. If there is blood (occasionally the Blood Bat card) it is green. Language: No swearing. I must warn that there are often words close to swear words that some of them may use, but that's just what people tend to do. Inappropriate: Nope. There is your occasional female tree, which has a very detailed outline of "not wearing any clothes" but what do people expect? She is a tree!!!
