Will EGS die?

Last year, when EGS in Mexico City changed its site, Nintendo announced that it will not attend the event, a hard strike indeed. But this year, Sony also joined Nintendo in that decision as they will not attend the event. Two big ones missing this event, will this lead EGS to an end?

I've been attending the event for two years, with the three big ones as well as many others attending. The event is a great place for Mexican gamers, as well as other Latin Americans, to try some new upcoming games and to have some great time with people that enjoy the same hobby: playing videogames.

In an EGS event I even met Reggie Fils-Aime (my previous blog post has a picture of my DS with Reggie's autograph :P ). EGS is a great place for gamers to gather and have an enjoyable day.

I didn't attend last year due to Nintendo's absence from it, but this year neither Nintendo nor Sony will attend, which I think will lead to the end of EGS and now the three big ones will more likely have their separate exclusive events. It's a shame for people like me that want to see all consoles and games from almost all companies in a single place like in EGS.

My DS Lite

This is my DS Lite with Reggie's autograph:

My DS Lite signed by Reggie

This was during EGS 06 at Mexico City. He was there in Nintendo's booth and i had my DS with me, so... :)

Btw, I'm still updating my list of games that I own, will take some time though.

The Beginning

Today I joined Gamespot after days of watching the forums and noticing how great they are and how the people here are really willing to help you and had a good discussion place of all our favorite games and other stuff. It's a really cool site and I will be updating my profile as well as my list of games (which will take some time). Want to play? Me too! Feel free to add me or PM me. I hope this site continues growing with the collaboration of all members.
