Last year, when EGS in Mexico City changed its site, Nintendo announced that it will not attend the event, a hard strike indeed. But this year, Sony also joined Nintendo in that decision as they will not attend the event. Two big ones missing this event, will this lead EGS to an end?
I've been attending the event for two years, with the three big ones as well as many others attending. The event is a great place for Mexican gamers, as well as other Latin Americans, to try some new upcoming games and to have some great time with people that enjoy the same hobby: playing videogames.
In an EGS event I even met Reggie Fils-Aime (my previous blog post has a picture of my DS with Reggie's autograph :P ). EGS is a great place for gamers to gather and have an enjoyable day.
I didn't attend last year due to Nintendo's absence from it, but this year neither Nintendo nor Sony will attend, which I think will lead to the end of EGS and now the three big ones will more likely have their separate exclusive events. It's a shame for people like me that want to see all consoles and games from almost all companies in a single place like in EGS.
