Just to reiterate, you do NOT need a hard disk to play any games other than MMO. You can play GTA4 on the arcade console. No games requires HDD install on xbox360.

From a B3D forum.

GS and IGN did not actually time the difference in load times. It was a presumed faster loading time with installation!

Thanks for clearing that up as well. Looking at that Japanese page they also tested loading times. Quite interesting to see that even with installation PS3 loads a few seconds slower in most cases. I hope they do a new test once the new dashboard update which allows installations on HDD is released. In all honesty 10s vs 8s is nothing. I really must applaud Namco for making a good PS3 port. If you read the previews from last year the PS3 version was in a bad shape at that time with lots of slowdowns etc. Looks like they really spend some time optimizing the game for PS3 too.

ステージ、キャラ 360 PS3 not installed PS3 installed
テスモポリス SIEGFRIED vs NIGHTMARE 12 16 10
エジプト XIANGHUA vs IVY 8 16 10
式神の間 HILDE vs TIRA 8 18 10

Actually.. the PS3 version ran at 720p and the xbox360 version ran at 1365x960. The xbox clearly ran at a higher resolution. Both version has no AA but edges will look softer on xbox360 since it is downscaled from a higher resolution.

It is interesting time after time that PS3 fanboys will think that the PS3 version looks better when it is not. Clearly the googles are there for a reason. The same thing with GTA as well.

Well the 360 version does run at a slightly higher resolution, (around 30% higher) and the 360 loading times are +/- 2 seconds compared to the ps3 version installed. Sometimes the 360 loads a few seconds faster, sometimes the ps3.

what this guy says.

It is the fact.

Just a random error hopefully. Happened to me roughly about 10 times in total over the last 2 years of my console. Didn't have the RROD yet and I can play on it for hours without any problem.

Well.. it is a proven fact that PS3 is 640p without AA and 360 version is 720p with 2xAA. That is why the PS3 version is blurrier and has more jaggies than the 360 version.

To Sony) "I'm responsible for chasing down contacts for Vgchartz to seek clarification on many PR issues. A contact of mine gave me your email. Recently, Sony released a statement saying that the PS3 sold 1.2 million units from Black Friday until the end of 2007. Our position is that Sony is reporting PS3s sold to retail, which counts as sales in terms of revenue. We would simply like to clarify and confirm that Sony (like Microsoft and Nintendo ) only track sales to retail, rather than the number of PS3s that end up in homes. As a number sold to retail, the PS3, PS2, and PSP figures agree well with our sell through data. Thanks for you time." In response, Sony wrote: "Hi (JMazel), Yes, we are reporting sell through data (sales to retail). If you have more questions on specific data I can put you in touch with {our} Analyst Relations Manager. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks, (Sony)"

From VgChartz, the guy actually wrote to Sony clarifying the definition of sold. Guess the TC has been owned ;)

All you need is to plug the ethernet cable in. You get the first month of gold free anyway. Remmeber u can browse live and download demos for free using silver membership. Silver membership does not cost anything. Wifi adaptor will work but i think it's a rip off. I'd use cable.
