I have now developed an annoyance for keeping up with blogs. I will make each one short and to the point. This one is about thw world of warcraft franchise. Truth be told, I think they squeezed as much $$$ from Warcraft as possible. What the HELL! It hasn't even been a year since wrath of the lich king! What the **** people? get your heads straight!
Dissapointed

Dell Studio XPS 1340 sold out at the Best Buy that I go to. Can only buy it at stores that are farther away or online. NOOOOOO it was the only one in my price range that had NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.

So last night I've been working on the prototype for my video game. I thought had everything down but I got a graphics and controls error. That brief enough?
Making video games is harder than I thought it would be...
by Aboombro on Comments
Making video games is not simple. Even 2D platformers are hard to make. I had just downloaded Game Maker version 7 yesterday from www.yoyogames.com, and was testing it out all day yesterday and this morning. I decided to make a simple first game and it didn't work out so well. The game only goes about 1 fps (frame per second) and the soundtrack only played when you moved around. I used a cartoon ghost image for the game but if you moved off the camera view the screen wouldn't change so I could not see the ghost. I used the background imade of a desert but for some reason unknown to me, the image kept going in a loop, so my character was permanently "disoriented". I got frustrated, so I resolved to try again tomorrow. If you want to try, then go ahead to yoyogames.com and download game maker. But I'll warn you, it's a pain on the ass.
Writer's block is a ****, a cold, hard ****
by Aboombro on Comments
I was planning to write as blog today, but I had experienced writers block, and I hadn't thought of anything to write about. So I will be writing how writer's block is a big pain in the ass. Let's say you have an awesome book idea, say, a book about a video game nobody bothered to write about. At first you think, "Well I beat this game a couple dozen times, I already memorized the whole game and dialogue. How hard could this be?".You're also probably thinking, "this is gonna be so easy! I wonder why nobody else wrote about this". Then, you're sitting at your computer or have paper and a pencil in your hand, it strikes. What also strikes you is the knowledge of why nobody else wrote about the game, which, coincidentally, is also why you've not started writing. Writer's Block. The ugly, pulsating pimple on the face of a good story. No matter how you try to break it, it bursts and its contents spill all over your...I don't think I should finish that sentence. Either way, you try to think, and you end up ripping out most of your hair. I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a keyword for writer's block to start. It sounds silly, but every time I think or say to myself,"how hard could this be?", I get can't think of anything to write. So, the reasonable solution for me is to...damn it.What was I talking about?
Blog #1: Halo movie and Halo Chronicles canceled?! WTF?!
by Aboombro on Comments
Being a member since April, I haven't really had the time to start a blog. I'm a big Halo fan, so I decided to write a blog about the canceled Halo projects. First off, the Halo movie. I know the history of video games turning into movies is a big failure in the film industry. Take Dragonball Z as an example. I only saw the commercial and I knew it would flop. The introduction gave me a chuckle. "We have to find all the dragonballs!" That was the stupidest movie line I had ever heard in a movie ad, let alone a movie. Seeing that, a lot of people who never played Halo, or just not a fan, would've thought that the movie was going to suck. But you have to pay attention to the story, people! I know almost all you reading this blog has played Halo. The story is amazing, set over five hundred years into the future, with a war between the human race and the Covenant. The Covenant have superior technology, while the human race have Master Chief SPARTAN-117, the kick-ass soldier of the SPARTAN Project with bad-ass MJOLNIR armor. They land on a Forerunner (extinct alien race the Covenant worship) ring construct, which contain a parasitic organism called the Flood. C'MON, PEOPLE!! That has to be a good enough storyline for a movie! Peter Jackson is a good filmmaker! He shouldn't have let production fall apart. I say he should get the film up and running, even if it means delaying the opening for a few more years. At the 2009 Comic-Con, Peter Jackson announced that the Halo: Chronicles Project fell apart when the movie didn't end up happening. I know you reader want to know what happened to Master Chief at the end of Halo 3. Well, I do, and think that Bungie should go beyond just The Fall of Reach in the Halo story. The way Jackson described the game as the most movie-like game ever made, I knew I had to get the game. Now all we have to look foreward to is Halo 3: ODST and Halo: The Fall of Reach. As a note to Bungie and to Peter Jackson: DO NOT GIVE UP ON HALO! THE FANS ARE BEGGING YOU!
