I Think I'm in Love

On Friday afternoon I left my office on my lunch with the intent of going to EB Games to pick up a copy of the Little Big Planet game guide, I wanted to do some extra reading up on it and such before actually getting the game. Once I got to EB, I asked the guy at the counter for a copy of the game guide and then asked him to double check to make sure the game was still coming out on Oct 27. He checked with his manager and she said the game was coming out that day! I almost crapped myself, literally. I bought the guide and drove back to my office to spread the good word to anyone who would listen. On the way back, I called the EB closer to my house (where I had my preorder) to confirm what the other EB dude had told me. Suffice it to say the game came out that day and I picked it up immediately after work. I have never had my expectations of a game so fully met in my life as a gamer! This game goes well above what I though it would be. You can really make almost anything you want. Anything!I've spent a good thirty or so hours on the game now, playing story mode by myself or with my bros or screwing around with the level creator.

My first attempt at creating a level sort of crashed and burned - I think I need some more experience. I tried creating something enormous and complicated but I had no idea what I was doing. So now I'm using the game guide to assist me in creating one of their levels and I'm getting a hang of what needs to be done to make things work. A lot of patience is required but with a little imagination and creative thinking anything can be achieved. I'm pumped for the network to come online so that I can play the levels other people have been creating. I've seen some great beta levels on Youtube and I'm pretty excited to try them out.

Till next time.

Little Big Heartbreak

Like everybody else who has been tracking and wishing and waiting for LittleBigPlanet, I was crushed when I heard it was being delayed. I know it's only a week or so until it comes out now but I have never been this pumped about a game. I have actually had dreams about this game, pathetic as that may sound. I sit at work and daydream about the silly crap I would like to try to create within this game. I think of myself as a creative person and to have this new means of letting my imagination go is fantastic. I know this game is going to suck up a lot of my time however I think it's going to be one of the healthier gaming experiences I, and everyone else who plays it, have had. There cannot be anything wrong with spending hours upon hours with a game that stimulates so much creativity. I was so mad when I heard about the delay. I actually went into my local EB Games, holding on to a thin shred of hope, and was told that they had received a shipment of the games but had to send them back within a couple of hours. I almost cried.

All that said, I picked up Dead Space to keep me busy until LBP is finally released. This game is epic! Honestly, the best survival-horror game experience I have ever had.....ever! Everything about this game is incredible. Even if you are not a fan of survival-horror games or action games or anything sweet like that, you should at least rent this game just to experience the genius that was used in developing it. Graphics, gameplay, atmosphere, sound, creatures, characters, voice-acting - it's all fantastic!

That's it. That's all.
