I don't care what anyone says. X4 is the pinnacle of any MMX sidescroller in gameplay, level design and plot. Inafune intended to reach that narrative in the plot from X1 and the timing of the switch to 32-bit consoles couldn't have been better.

Don't forget that he had nothing to do with X after X5 and Capcom completely trainwrecked his original continuity.

Pretty sure Banjo is loving the reactions you guys are giving him via his trolling. Even if you call him out, as long as you continue to argue with him on an objective level then he'll just go on. Must be pretty hilarious for him.

I'd ignore all VS threads of his if I were you.

When I think about it I'd rather not go the amnesiac path. Simply because legacy games will seem too archaic, no matter how well they played back in the day, and I simply don't have time to play such classics and will have to regretfully skip them. I'm just glad I experienced them back in the day.

However, if you asked me this question 6 years ago, I'd say all RE, MGS, and PSX FF games.

Unless you're a collector, I don't see the point of paying so much for an old game that's a technical relic for the sake of playing it. Unless it's legally available digitally just emulate it.

yes, those are from the DC version. at the same time, yes, there was a Saturn version in development , but cancelled once Capcom realised Sega was Saturn was sinking. this was because of the whole deal with RE 1.5.Darkman2007

Oh, so you're talking about a Saturn version lol (re-read your first post, misleading typo). I had a Saturn and I remember seeing the first RE advertised on promo booklets I used to read that came bundled with purchased Saturn games. Though I never really cared for the series until I got my first PSX in mid '99 (got an N64 when the Saturn died).

Wish they'd patch up RE 1.5 ala the SNES Starfox 2 and release it as a downloadable title or something. Would love to play a new RE with the classic feel again.

Tales series just because I have alot of catching up to do since beating the two Symphonias and Vesperia. Played the PSX/PS2 FFs to death. XII doesn't exist.

I have to wonder if the DC version exists , for the simple reason that the Saturn port of RE2 was cancelled, and Sega wanted RE2 on a Sega console.Darkman2007

What are you talking about? Aren't the screencaps you took above from the DC version? I had no idea the version existed til I saw your discussions with banjo on this thread.

I miss the thought of it being the only pass-time worth undertaking other than watching TV back in the day. Since the internet's widespread introduction I've found it dificult to convince myself to spend most of a free-time weekday on a game.

The internet makes me feel like it'd more worthwhile to spend my free time on something that would actually benefit me e.g. read articles/gather knowledge. This is besides the fact that I don't find gaming as much fun anymore. Though that's due to age more than anything else.

The DC and GC versions may be "super ports" but they're a rip-off all the same. Back when they first came out they felt more like a contractual agreement gone wrong (ala Hotel Mario) and/or a cheap way to make a quick buck. Only benefit I see is that if you've never played the games (both 2 & 3) you'd be well suited to be introduced to the series via the defintive versions. Including the REmake 1.
