Speed Racer has a terrible yet amazing line where John Goodman throws a ninja out a window. After he does this Christina Ricci comes into the room and says "Was that a ninja?" and John Goodman says "More like a nonja." I love that line yet I die inside when I hear it.

Another horrible line is in a sci fi channel original movie called Ice Spiders. There is a scene in that after a scientist lady tells the story of how she helped create giant spiders for some stupid reason I can't remember. Then she gets attacked by one and beats it to death with a chair. After killing the spider she turns to the hero and he says "Hey doc nice rack." At first when I heard this it confused me, then I realized what was being implied and I turned off the TV.

LOL, one day I spent a whole evening watching cheesy Sci Fi Original movies with a friend (which I'm surprised are even funded to be made), and we watched that movie.. That's one of the only parts I remember from it, aside from the terrible skiing ending.

"I am Torgo."

cheesyjon

This made me lol :)

I guess the guy who played Torgo committed suicide not too long after the movie.. The braces he had to wear as Torgo gave him terrible leg pain, so he had to take painkillers. He soon got addicted, his life spiraled down, and bang. Poor Torgo :(

Alright, well I'm making an extremely well educated guess since I'm a fan of the director.. You don't have any proof that he did it in complete seriousness, I assume.

Dylan_11

An educated guess is still a guess.

As for your second part, seeing as how I never said he did that scene in complete seriousness I don't see why I need to provide proof? Remember I simply spoke of my opinion on the scene, whereas you attempted to give us the thoughts of the director.

Well sorry, I suppose if I went back and put "I think" in front of all my sentences, this matter could be laid to rest ;)

Even though I amright

[QUOTE="Dylan_11"]Care to provide a link confirming that he intended to be cheesy and that he wanted this part in the film?Dylan_11

It's just who Sam Raimi is. I've seen several of his movies and read a book by Bruce Campbell which talked a lot about him. You can see elements of it in all the Spider-Man movies, like in the second when when Doctor Octopus is under surgery and his mechanical arms go whack-o.

So in other words you are just assuming he meant it to be cheesy. So don't make it seem like you know ;) At least the arms going whacko in the second movie made sense within the realm of the character. Peter Parker dancing up and down the streets like a crazy person is just simply out of character.

Alright, well I'm making an extremely well educated guess since I'm a fan of the director.. You don't have any proof that he did it in complete seriousness, I assume.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest :)

I was about to read Dune by Frank Herbert, but I was going on vacation with a bunch of family and I didn't want them to see my sci-fi nerdiness. So I just started Cuckoo's.

Sam Raimi was being cheesy on purpose when he did this.. he wasn't being serious..

Care to provide a link confirming that he intended to be cheesy and that he wanted this part in the film?
