Poorly written article on a slow news day is making the obvious bias against Sony even more obvious. Try being more professional in order to keep up with your competitors.
Thing is, motion control is an option with the PS3. Love it? Pick one up. Not for you? No harm done. Where the Wii failed is by forcing a sub-par control onto people with even farther sub-par games. The PS3 still has the games, as we have seen in the last year, which is really all that matters in the end.
I just keep coming up with all kinds of comments... 1) What happens if their servers go down? Computers crash, and that's basically what's letting us run the games. Their servers. Our game crashes? So then I have to rely on not only my hardware holding up its end of the deal, but theirs too? 2) Unable to rent games?
One more thing... after skimming through the comments, I've noticed a trend of two different types of people. Type A) People who think this is a good idea and it could possibly work well, but have said that they will stick to their consoles. No thanks. Type B) People who think this is a terrible idea that will result in epic failure, and will just stick to their consoles. No thanks. Conclusion: No one is ready for this.
Couple of things... First, with high speed internet companies putting a cap on bandwidth this could pose a problem. Second, my graphics setting depends on how good my internet connection is? So if I have thousands of dollars worth of equipment, but live in an area where they don't offer the fastest connections, I'm playing in a low resolution? No thanks. Third, between your internet connection attempting to run the game and trying to actually play on a server, I see lag problems. And in the end, I'd rather keep it how it has always been. I go buy a hard copy of my favorite game, bring it home. This might work in 8 years from now, but I think this will be a huge bust.
