If I'm looking to receive a bunch of bonus physical merchandise (Fallout NV, Skyrim), then I buy the physical collector's edition. If I'm looking to be practical and save space and couldn't care less about physical casing, then I buy the game digitally through GoG, Steam, or another digital service.
