Animal Crossing 2

I haven't had the chance to play Animal Crossing in the past few days. More characters are being added every day or so to the town I live in.

The other night, I played late at night, when I finished my shift at midnight. I walked around the town, several characters were awake wandering as well. I crossed over a bridge and a voice spoke to me. At first I thought it was a tree talking to me, when I got closer, this clear white blob flew towards me. I jumped, silly me. He told me to capture spirits. I had to catch five spirits before 4am. I thought to myself, well it's still early, I don't think I'm going to stay up until 4am. As much as I love the game, I do love to sleep!

I purchased a net from the store to capture insects and butterflies. The clear white blob told me to use my net to capture the spirits. I only got 3. I was too tired to see what would happen if I were to get 5. The clear white blob reminded me of Slimer from the Ghostbusters but obviously in this case white. I managed to gather more furniture for my little house. I'm not going with any theme, I'm just trying to make things match together heh! I peaked into many of the other character's homes, I want their furniture but it will come in time.

My sister got Sims 2 for her computer. I've heard and seen Sims series before but never actually played it. I would like to get it for the xbox. My sister said if I like designing interiors, I would love this. I also want to get Burnout 3, it's been getting great reviews, more so than Fable. I can see why, it's 'drive and destroy' mentality compared to Fable where it's a roleplaying game that takes time and thought. I'm really bad at driving in reality and even in games. But to crash cars, I think I'm an expert lol.

Animal Crossing

Ever since my sister gave me her gamecube, I've entered a reality called Animal Crossing. It seems childish when you first look at it but it's actually quite addictive provided you can tolerate cute characters and have the patience! It began with going a train, I decided to name myself "Kittie". I arrived to a town called Mallepa. I met a furry character named Mr Tom Nook. He owned a lot of the houses and a store where he sold everything you need to live in that town. I got a house but had to pay off the debts overtime. Last night, I finally paid off all the money!

What's amazing about this game is the town still goes on even when you're not playing. I was curious to see what it would be like to roam around the town at 2:00am. And so I turned on the gamecube and started to walk around. It wasn't raining anymore since the last time I played. A lot of the characters were sound asleep with the exception of maybe two. I went up to my neighbour "Bangle" who was sleeping right outside his door. He woke up all embarrassed and thanked me for waking him up. He then went inside his home to fall asleep.

In order to make money in the town, you run errands for the characters. You also work in Mr Nook's little shop. I managed to buy myself a fishing rod and a shovel from the store. Everytime I dig up something, I either get money, fossils or furniture for my house! When I go fishing which is one of my favourite things to do in the game, I put the fish in my pocket and take it to Mr Nook's shop to sell.

There are so many factors in the town to survive, I love it, I wish I could be my character Kittie watching myself complete errands, paying off debts and going fishing. Ironically it makes me motivated in my own life to complete tasks even something simple like writing letters.

They have a post office where you can write letters with stationary that is given to you. It reminded me to write letters to my own friends and loved ones. ^-^ I absolutely love interior decorating which is very apparent in the game as well, you can decorate your house, choose wall colours, furniture, plants etc. This is what attracted me to the game, in reality I would need money to buy such things, in the game obviously you come across furniture by working and running errands. But the fact that all I had to do was push the buttons on my controller and control the character to buy furniture excited me.

I mean I needed "money" in the town (money is called "bells".) My little house in a town called Mallepa is furnished way more than my apartment in reality lol. I work a lot but to purchase things but it's time consuming and saving up, in the game it's instant just run around completing tasks and boom! you're rewarded! I just found myself lately really en-wrapped in their cute reality. It's calming and entertaining especially after a stressful day at work ^-^
