Way too much Kinect and always akward for viewers and demonstrators. The only thing I saw worthwhile regarding the Kinect was Ghost Recon. Besides that, Halo 4, Gears, COD, Forza 4, and Tomb Raider looked great!
Mostof the top gamesdo have splitscreen (Gears 2+3, CoD Black Ops, Halo Reach). All three of those have a co op mode as well. Battlefield 3 is the onlypopular game that's lacking the feature.
As for the games that don't, my opinion on it is that the developers just don't care. There are very few people who buy games just for the splitscreen, so if people will buy it anyways (splitscreen or not)why bother spending time on the feature.

As a dev, I can assure you that "not caring" was not the case when we tried adding local split screen COOP to Mercs 2. As passionate as we were about the feature, the game engine simple could not handle split screen. It ran very poorly and was even more unstable. We definitely wanted it, but lacked engineering resources to make it a polish and shippable feature. Sometimes, sure, devs could care less, but usuall it comes down to deadlines, priorities, and hardware limitations.
That game ran poorly regardless.In fact, it would bevery challenging to make run it run worse.It was still fun though.
Yeah, unfortunately it wasn't the most polished game, so I won't argue with that. Glad you had fun with it! :) Cheers!

I have on the crappy titles, but the game I really sat down and decided my time to getting all 1000 was MassEffect 2. Oh man, the collector ship on the hardest difficulty took me a week or so. :O
