I recently did a review on Shogun Empires (mostly because I couldn't find any major site that had done one at the time) and was pleasantly suprised on how well the RTS genre has first debuted on the DS. Now Shogun Empires isn't the kind of game that would take advantage of all that an RTS would have to offer, however, it did show how the touch screen and content flipping (between the top and bottom screens) makes it such a beautiful platform to make RTSes on. I am thinking people should start pre-ordering Age of Empires DS for when it comes in two months, as this will be the first 'real' RTS on the DS. It would be a good idea to show support for it, and I have no doubt the controls will be spectacular. Even a sub-par game like Shogun Empires (which uses a Total War Squadron approach to RTSes) made the RTS part of the game easy to use and function. I think purchasing a lot of copies of Age of Empires DS will be critical in finalizing Blizzard's plans for StarCraft DS.
