Though the game was announced as a PS3 exclusive originally, it's now multi-platform as shown at the end of the newest battle trailer Square-Enix has shown.
Now I'm not sure what hardware SE is running this on, I am assuming they are building it for next gen platforms, but if they can somehow squeeze this out of current gen than I agree they have the graphics down. (I highly suggest you watch the link below to see what I am talking about.)

I know graphics do not make a game but for a large portion of players it's very important. That being said, we're approaching the point where graphical improvements are going to start to level off and immersion into the gameworld will take precidence. It will be interesting to see if these companies shift their business models to accomodate or inhibit the natural evolution of console platforms.
This is the system that Nintendo will be supporting for the next several years. The Next Several years......

What you said there scares me. "The Next Several Years....." Are they trying to apply the nickle and dime approach that was the Nintendo DS to the home market? Make tons of revisions each hardware "generation" to boost sales as they sag? If so, I think it may turn a decent number of people away.
I would prefer they took the approach that Sony and MS are (building a system that is intended to last ~10 years, with minor cost reduction builds that are not marketed as a new system), but I understand their profit margins are of course the biggest concern not the gamer's wallet (except to expand said profit margin).
Now, can anyone explain why someone would even buy that thing? How much would you have paid for it or under what sort of circumstances would it take for it to be forced upon you (Assume for this hypothetical that you cannot resell or trade the thing afterwards. It's yours. For good.)?
My starter list has several already mentioned, but here we go:
Uncharted 1 and 2
Demon's Souls
Valkyria Chronicles ($20 new at Gamestop, I think most places now)
Dead Space
Killzone 2
Those should keep you busy for a little bit. If you never played God of War 1 or 2 for the PS2, you should pick up the God of War collection to prepare you for God of War III coming out shortly.
I'm not happy about the theme song change. They should have just left it alone, as in FFX. I don't think you can just put another song in for what they're making out to be an important scene and not say something gets lost in the translation. Too bad there won't be an option to go with the original song instead. On the other hand, I'll be buying this day one so guess they don't really care much heh.
