I was hoping it would come out at $200 dollars as well. This won't be a day one purchase, I'll probably wait it out for a bit and see if what they plan to do about UMD -> dL conversion, and for some first hand reviews. I'll just have to deal with a couple months worth of puppy eyes from the GF before dropping money on it, and waiting to see if they release it in a color she actually likes (i.e. not black/white/pink) wouldn't hurt either.

There is still no guarantee that MGS:R is a complete exclusive to the 360, we'll still have to wait for the Sony conference for that. If it is, MGS: R is probably going to be more of a spin off than a true MGS5, which will most likely stay on the PS3. It doesn't make sense to give a direct continuation of the franchise to a console that has none of the previous backstory.

No comparison at all, Iphone blows it out of the water. The PSP's internet is strictly for emergencies if by some chance you forgot your phone instead of your PSP...

The little detail that makes me think that the PSP Go is going to fail is the No UMD Drive. It will save battery, but might be a bad idea for PSP owners that have tons of UMD's.

DarkMaster7991

Again, sony is going to find a way to convert them, there not just going to have a bunch of games from 2005 unplayable, that would severely limit the GO user base, they will come up with some way to change them to a digital format.

Plus it's an option. Still making UMDs for 3000 users. Go is for DD users. thats it. It won't fail if it's users are what it's meant for. Digital Download.

I agree, it's simply an alternative. Personally, I think dropping the UMD is a great idea as I have no love of the format. If it really does increase battery life that would be great, but those of us that already play games strictly from the stick dl'd from the PSN experience that boost in battery anyway, so no change there.

I very much doubt Sony would just abandon the current player base if they chose to upgrade to the Go (if they do, somebody up there needs to get fired. Now). All they'd have to do is have a trade-in offer: trade in your UMDs for online PSN vouchers of the same game. That way, it gets the UMDs out of the way without shortchanging the player base. For selling these games, you could do what Patapon 2 did: get on the PSN and get it or buy the voucher and get the box (which pleases the box enthusiasts)

I suppose not going to the store for games anymore would save me some gas money :P

I do hope they implement some sort of UMD -> download tradeoff or something though. Take your UMDs to a game store and get free PSN vouchers for them?(that seems like the most reasonable route to me)

I don't even know what they might make the starting price of the Go though... back to $300 like the "good ol' days" maybe. I would be surprised if it was less.

I need more info before I cast the first stone (or, alternatively, jump on the Go bus). It would be great if Sony has some sort of online trade in plan for first/second/third adopters of the PSP, and 16 gigs of onboard memory is very attractive.

I need more information though; I guess I'll see if I'm yea or nay at E3.

I've got my fingers crossed man. There are alot of great games I never got to play cause my parents only bought an N64 and I was just too lazy at the time to spend money on a PS1.

I don't know if anyone can really say if Sony will go through with their promise of frequent updating, but I don't see why they couldn't... as it's sitting now, it's an untapped goldmine of a resource!

The Metal Gear Acid games are alot of fun. 2 builds on what was good in one, speeds up the battle process and everything. I didn't really like the art direction in 2, but I suppose that's a moot point. Storywise, 2 is very indirectly related to 1, but they are somewhat related.

Do they still sell the 3D things for the games anymore? I'm not sure if they do, I picked up both games used. I've heard they make people dizzy or sick if you keep them on for too long though.

I'd say go chronologically. If you intend on playing both eventually then go 1 -> 2. The core gameplay is pretty much the same, but there was alot of stuff added in 2 that you'd just miss if you played 2 -> 1 and you'd enjoy 1 a bit less.

If you can only get one and don't intend on buying the other (though I don't see why not..they're both fairly cheap), then get 2

I imported this for my sister's birthday since she understands Japanese to a much better degree than I do. She loves the game. I played it for a bit while I was visiting her place and it's a lot of fun. Does get a bit repetitive after a while, but playing purely for nostalgia keeps the replay value up by itself.
