the only thing i truly do not understand is how this reviewer claims that the controls are the biggest problem in this game, while almost every other review i have read praise the controls, calling them revolutionary and claiming that they bring to the table what the Wii should have been doing it's entire lifespan. there is something seriously flawed with this logic... there is no way someone who is paid to judge this game can be on the polar opposite of every other paid reviewer out there. It makes no sense to me.

I think that my first online game was probably Warcraft 2 or Counter strike, not exactly sure which I played first.
My first online console game was the original Socom for the PS2. I remember waiting for Christmas to get the network adapter just so I could play that one onilne. Way back in the day it seems... how time flies.
I do understand that there is a lot that this game has to offer, but everytime I play it i feel like it is a GTA clone in the wild west. I think the praise it has received has been completely blown out of proportion. I cant play this game for more than an hour at a time due to the bugs and glitches. Like someone said before me, the whole open world thing is incredibly boring to me. I really do appreciate that amount of things this game offers, but in terms of the experience that it provides, I feel that there were others this year that truly kept me captivated for hours on end like Mass Effect 2 and Mario Galaxy 2. I was just shocked to see so many awards given to Red Dead by Gamespot this year, especially when there seemed to be better options, in my opinion, for some of their awards.
While a lot of these new potential IP's have a lot of potential, the unfortunate reality is that most will probably be mediocre titles, others will be great titles that receive little to no coverage with a great review but have no commercial success, and then there will be very few that are breakout titles that result in a unlimited supply of sequels throughout the future.
While you guys may be talking about general games and broad experiences with those games... I'm going to mention a very specific moment in Ocarina of Time. It is when you finally get Epona and need to get to Gerudo Fortress. Before that, there was the broken bridge getting in the way, but not when you have Epona.
Those few seconds where the camera pulls back and shows link and epona jumping over the bridge is a moment in gaming i will never forget. i dont know why but that is one time where i seriously sat back and was like "woah"
I would say it is pretty safe to say that fall 2010 exclusives are pretty weak for all platforms, at least in comparison to most other years. However, I would say 2010 as a whole was pretty damn good. Excellent exclusives and multiplats spread out nicely throughout the year.
I dont understand how Nintendo is not on this list. While Sony and Microsoft have made a name for themself within the last certain number of years, Nintendo is the only console manufacturer around since the 80's! Sure they slowed down a bit with the nintendo 64 and gamecube, but their release of the Wii has catapulted them back to the top! Obviously a company like this has been doing something right if it has been around for as long as it has been and still dominating the market. That list is completely irrelevant without Nintendo on it.
Where, Oh where, can our little friend Kingdom Hearts 3 be? With FF13 finally out, i'd rather hear some information on KH3 than Versus, i dont know about anyone else. Hearing about both would be a nice little bonus though
