Half-Year Recap

Yes, I am back. No, I probably wont be back for long. This is just a "feel like it" sort of thing. Well, the school year has just blazed past me. I didnt even realize it. Today, the 12th of June, year 2008, the Sophomore year of Chris ends. Terrific.

I must be suffering from some sort of manic disease. Nothing hold my interest anymore. Warhammer 40k doesnt, anime doesnt, NOTHING does. I must be going insane. Or sick. Or both.

Anyways... my games list...

Hellgate London: Big patch, for both SP and MP. The ironic thing is though, the SP patch screws up the MP, and the MP patch screws up the SP. Interesting. I got up to level 3, then quit. Reminds me too much of the MMOs ive wasted nearly half my life on. The gameplay is pretty generic, I just understood why it got a bad review. Haha.

Battle for Middle Earth 2: I have this? Oh my god, I really do. Seems like its trying to milk the movie franchise though. It doesnt seem to try hard enough for me to care. The gameplay mechanics are pretty odd, and the whole "squad" thing it tries so hard to pull off doesnt work either. Its just like medieval CnC.

Command and Conquer 3: I have this too? Haha. EA is mind controlling me. Just the same old CnC with a new graphics engine. Doesnt hold my attention for long. Might as well play Tiberian Sun or Red Alert 2.

Mass Effect: For those of you who read C0m1's blog, it was me who did all that, not him. I finished the game in almost every possible way imaginable. Then I discarded it like a dry rag. And what the hell is with the romance "sub-plot"? You just do it with Ashley, then you go and save the universe (like humans always do), and boom. Game ends. For shame, Bioware. I expected better.

Fable, The Lost Chapters: Hmm. This was a pretty good game, I guess. I havent played it since last summer, though. But I guess it gave me a good feeling, so I assume its a good game. Peter Molyneux sure knows his stuff.

Universe at War: Now this game I regret getting. Didnt even play it for even a half of a half of a day, and I got bored of it. Aliens invade Earth and then fight each other, and some mysterious race comes up from the ocean to combat them as well? Boring.

Gears of War; Lasted me a few days. Kind of scary in the right places, but Dom's incredibly stupid AI always ruins the mood. The Berserkers were a blast to fight, and added some flavor into the game, along with the cover system and the divine chainsaw on the Lancer. Short, in my opinion, though, but maybe its because I played it through on Co-op.

Crysis: Occupado-ed a week in my life. Or rather, in C0m1's life. I dont see whats so revolutionary about it. It was optimized horribly. Mass Effect, I had to admit, looked better than Crysis, and it didnt even run the Crytek Engine. Thats just my opinion, though.

Warhammer 40,000: The only thing that remotely has my attention anymore. I find myself playing Dark Crusade a lot more often. I never bought Soulstorm, but from what Ive heard its not much to miss. Waiting for Dawn of War 2, naturally. Ive played this so much in the recent days that I can take 7v1 Insane difficulty in Skirmish, and Im the 1. It only works if Im Space Marines, though, Im not too used to (or liking) the other races.

Company of Heroes: I suppose I should try this again. Been a long time since I have. I remember playing it way back when. The Nazis were better in CoH, imo, because I loved using Panzer IVs and Panthers to round up the enemy. The physics and graphics are nice too, I should say, but I dont always want to be "the blue colored base".

Need for Speed Carbon: Waaaaaaaaaaay done with this. Lost the CD key for it too. Ah well. Not that I really cared, this game was buggy even with the patches. Always kept crashing on me. But at least I beat it, thats all my head needs to know.

And thats bout it. As I said before, this is a "I feel like it" sort of thing, Im not really back. No use trying to keep lying to myself that Im gonna update this blog. Cause I probably wont. But on to other things...

Super Smash Brothers Brawl: Im semi-excited about this game. I played it, and I really liked it. Im really good as Ike or Marth, but any other characters I suck as. Im pretty good on the Gamecube controller, but I think I fight better using the Wii-mote. And no, I do not own this game. I wish I did though. Its pretty intense.

Red Steel: Now here comes the rant. This is the biggest piece of **** I have ever played. 4 players on one TV. Bad enough as it is, because the screens are so **** small. We (as in me, C0m1, and two of our friends) were playing that... one game mode with the phone. Stupid phone. Seriously, lady, Im in the middle of a Japanese complex with 3 other madmen running on the loose with guns, and you think you can call me? Tch. Anyways, we switched over to Team Deathmatch. Man, I hated that. As an accustomed and probably formerly respected Sniper in Valve games, the Wii-mote ****ing ticks me off. Terrible accuracy, and someone always came up behind me and hit me so I went unconscious, and then killed me. Happened to me 30 times. I just dropped the Wii-mote, yelled "This is ****ing Bull****.", and walked off to the kitchen of my friend's house (it was his birthday). My friends were laughing at me cuz I sucked so bad, but I told them their accuracy isnt even remotely as good as mine in CS: Source and they can come take me 7 on 1 if they wanted to, and Id still win. They shut up after that.

Well, thats it for this blog. Probably never coming back. Ill probably use this place to rant about how stuff happens and how bad some games are, but thats about it. Peace.

Warhammer for the win. Praise the Emperor and strike down his foes.
