Drowning in Sand

Hey everyone,

On Tuesday I purchased a copy of red Faction: Guerrilla, and played the first mission and a couple of Guerrilla actions. Very good. I'm really enjoying it, but am leaving it aside at the moment to try and finish InFamous, which I bought about 3 weeks ago. Although I enjoy InFamous, I'm not enjoying it as much over the past couple of days since I bought Prototype and Red Faction. Prototype and red faction are just more fun, and InFamous feels a wee bit repetitive and tedious. I had initially planned to play through twice, but I'm not sure now. Currently I'm good and was going to be evil in the second playthrough, but I really can't be bothered going through it again, as I just want to get really stuck into Prototype and Red Faction, having only played one or two missions in each.

Also, I'm considering getting Ghostbusters, having seen the Gamespot review but I'll definitely not get it at full price, instead I'll wait a few weeks and see if a preowned version turns up, otherwise I'll wait until it goes down in price, just like Bionic Commando did in ASDA (£17! - but have not bought it or intend to.)

TEAM!

At Last!

Well, finally I got a new 80Gb PS3 on Saturday 6th June. My old one was 'beyond repair' but at least I have a PS3 now. Plus, I got Infamous for a cheaper price than a brand new copy (thank you pre-owned). Also, my concerns over MGS4 have been quelled, seeing that in 3 days I have gone beyond the point I was previously on (plus I get to watch the glorious cut-scenes again - love Drebin and his monkey!). Watched some E3 coverage and even got a question asked by the one and only Guy Cocker to the LBP PSP guys. Can#t wait for Prototype this Friday and Brutal Legend.

As of yet, I haven't started playing through Resi5 again. As much as I loved playing through it originally (to the 3rd Chapter), I can't be bothered doing it again yet and seeing all the stuff I was glad to have completed before.

Also, got a PSP as a stopgap between PS3's but sold it, making a depressing monetary loss in the process.

Anyway, just thought I'd let people know.

Hallelujah

Well folks, after over a month of not having my PS3, I finally put it in to get repaired at my locak G-Force (legendary games shop in Glasgow). However, they don't reckon that they can fix it, but will have a look. Although, I can get a brand new 80Gb PS3 as part of a swap for £200. Soon, I will have a PS3 back. On a down note, I have been advised not to take out the hard drive, thus, all my save data is gone. Killzone 2...on the very last mission (sob). Resi 5... on the 3rd Chapter, got to start again:evil:. MGS4, well I have to go through all that again, I'm on the 2nd or 3rd chapter there:cry:. Oh well, got a prewoned PSP Slim and Liteat GAME for £89 along with Resistance Retribution and GTA Vice City Stories. Something to doI suppose. :?

Week of Nightmares

Man, this week has been one long nightmare. You see, on Tuesday 14th April 2009my PS3 decided to turn itself off whilst I was playing FIFA 09 and not turn itself on again, I believe what has struck it down so mercilessly is the 'Red/Yellow light of death'. Call it what you will, it is something that I would not inflict upon any PS3 owners. I now see the shame in my mockery of XBOX 360 owners when they would say that they had been struck by the 'Red rings of death', and instead I now share their pain.

Apparently Sony wat £145 to fix it, but I have a cunning plan..."as cunning as a fox who has been made professor of cunning at Oxford University"...or rather a guy called Tony on a consumer help forum does. Seeing as my PS3 is a launch edition 60Gb console, it is now out of warranty, so now my beef is with ASDA (Wal-Mart for any International readers), whom I bought the PS3 from on the day of release. Tony has given me a letter to send to ASDA and complain to them under some Consumer rights act. Awesome.

Not awesome. So far, 3 days without PS3. God it's terrible, so much boredom. My music and laptop can only sustain me for a few hours at best. My poor laptop, although only a few months old, it can only run one game well: Rome Total War, a very good game nonetheless, but not a game which keeps you hooked for hours. Also, the punishing lack of choice of games for my laptop is...undescribably cruel. All my PS3 game sit there taunting me; FIFA wants me to buy new players in the transfer market; Killzone 2 wants me to kill Col Radec in the last level of the game (which I'm on); Resi 5 wants my love, after having recently bought the Versus mode and only having played it a couple of times; Street Fighter 4 wants me to kick the crap out of some foreign guy online; Ninja Gaiden Sigma wants...well I'm stuck on a level, but never mind; Devil May Cry 4 needs me to slash thebejesus out of some weird looking things; Prince of Persia...again I'm stuck on the Royal Gardens bit; Condemned 2 ushers me to cave some psychpath's head in with a prosthetic arm; MGS4 needs me enjoy it's glory and bask in it's never-ending cutscenes; Guitar Her World Tour, ah how I miss thee; Burnout paradise prods me with a stick and tells me to take down somegit online; finally, Little Big Planet, how I have ignored you recently...poor Sackboy...
