Whats all this hype about gaming laptops? The PCHardware forum is polluted with posts asking if their laptops are good for gaming. The answer is NO! Ok don't write comments about how the DELL XPS has dual 8800GTX is good and the hole nine yards. That laptop weighs more than my cat and the battery lasts 4.5 minutes! Nice portability why not carry around a cement block, it'll give you some exercise? I agree that laptop is good for gaming but in today's society (including all the: 'I want this laptop is it good' posts) people won't pay more than 1000$ for one. Well news flash a 8600 can't play Crysis for sh!t without going under 20Fps on med or getting so hot you can't play it on your lap anymore. If your stuck playing on your desk with a cooling kit, why the hell did you buy a laptop! You pay more for less. For 1300$ I get my build that's posted under. For 1300$ you get a 8600. I don't know why everybody has the urge to play Age of Conan on a college laptop. I'm going to college in two years. I need a laptop just as much as everybody else, so I get a good gaming PC for GAMES and a ibook G4 for WORK. Why try to combine both. If your in a dire need of a gaming laptop cough up the cash, there's little economy to make in the gaming laptop domain.
