College Olympics?
by Angus_Mac on Comments
I've got a screamer tonight so while I may not be getting any sleep or any subs done, let's hear some thoughts about the Olympics. Why did they open it up with downhill skiing practice? What a waste; it made me think I missed the opening so I stopped tuning in and ended up catching it on the 2am replay. Maybe it's just me, but the Torino opening ceremonies sure reminded me of college football games at Stanford. You got the ski jumper formation, clearly the coolest part of the ceremony. At halftime shows, the "marching" band would run around on the field randomly and create formations. Stanford's mascot is a pointy green tree. There's plenty of folks dressed as trees, which is OK as long as you're not a tree during the Big Game against Cal. Dancing cows spinning around. Maybe that's like a mascot for another college? The playing of American disco songs during the Parade of Nations. Is that what's popular in Italian clubs these days? Who bribed the Olympic committee this time? Feel free to re-blog your olympic thoughts from other blogs too. I don't get a chance to read 'em sometimes :)
