If you have Half Life two look up on moddb or similar sources Project Valkyrie, or Valkyrie Project, one or the other. Its a full Metroid universe rip. Unfortunately they forgot to ask for permissions so Nintendo shut them down but they've done a gorgeous job on the system. Added the pirate energy sword to the Valkyrie unit and there's even a few pieces of WELL recognizable game mechanics including the famous Chozo Statues. If you use hammer editor at all, and got the right permissions it would be an awesome project to pick back up. Its the only thing I know of closer than the Halo Mods for Metroid prime. http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-valkyrie http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-valkyrie/videos The first one is an implementation of morph ball. They added a sort of super boost ball that includes jumping, the space boot feature that allows double jumps when in the suit mode and many other features. Its a gorgeous system but like I said has sadly died. If I had a better machine I'd spend my time mapping stuff from the Prime Series. This one is for Halo Combat Evolved. Pretty awesome Total Game Conversion. http://www.moddb.com/mods/metroid-online http://www.moddb.com/mods/metroid-online/videos

Frogger...? Maybe? other than that you are pretty much restricting yourself to Like a version of Heroes of Might and Magic (which with game pads would be hella slow), unless you can find some like side scroller rpg like system that uses a local area network instead of the net. Either that or look at emulators; GBA has VBA-Link so you could pretty much do that easily with two controllers and one rom.

You mentioned Braid. Played Aquaria yet? Pretty awesome system

[QUOTE="Gelugon_baat"]

You may want to give some specifics before asking for "good" indie games. Otherwise, you would be attracting indie game fans to spam all over this thread about their favorite games and not necessarily games that you may like.

(And I want to point out here that Orcs Must Die! is indeed not your kind of game, especially if you don't like obnoxious protagonists - please see illustration.)

Of course, they might just spam anyway. :P

Anyway, I had to look through your posts in this thread and your profile to make a recommendation.

You may want to have a look at Aquaria, if you haven't gotten the game already. Its gameplay is probably sophisticated for you, but I have to warn you that the combat in that game is under-developed. It has a complete story (no loose ends and sh*t like that), no annoying DLCs and such other things if you happen to despise current game-making trends.

Obligatory screenshot for optional embellishment.

There is a demo for that game, and if you want to listen to the soundtrack, there's a free-to-stream album over at Bandcamp.

P.S. If you are curious about this, then you may want to know that while there is a game-page for this game, GameSpot (under Jeff Gerstmann's stewardship at the time) had overlooked the game.

That was the plan,get a lot of suggestions,check them out for more info,and see which ones I find interesting :)

And I like your suggestion,haven't played it.Art style looks nice,and if it isn't too combat focused,there shouldn't be any problems.Glad these smaller developers give us demos,makes it easier to decide,remids me of how things used to be in the industry some time ago.Will DL when I have the time...

Lol yes. This. To be exact. She's one heck of powerful mermaid. Think God of War meets Metroid Meets The ACTUAL story of the Merfolk. Clearly you have someone here who knows how awesome it is. my computer can't handle the multiple flash entities at the moment. SO I am missing my Aquaria but I still have my installer.
