7 years later and people are still complaining about the cost of XboxLive? Are you shtting me?
50 bucks a year is nothing compared to what people pay for their cellphones, which is typically 40-50 bucks A MONTH. Same concept I'd like to add for gas prices, 40 dollars every 2 weeks, or the cost of one game and most REAL GAMERS buy one or 2 games each month. These same people I've dealt with the first time xbox live came out are still having this notion of paying 50 dollars a YEAR is too much?
And btw geniuses, if online is free then who would u like to provide the servers for you to play on? Thought so.
Bottom line is, with competition, it let developers, and companies push boundaries to compete and create better looking consoles and games. If Microsoft never entered the console market, Sony would just lag its development of ps3, not develop or steal ideas from nintendo, and drive up the cost of games even higher than what they are now.
Imagine if Apple developed a console. That would put some pressure on microsoft to build better console and games, and drive sales down. That would definitely put Sony in deeper sh!t than they are now, and Nintendo will keep denying that theyre on a different market far away from the console war.
Take your pick. moar competition or one company controlling over the market. Think Atari when it literally had no competition. The console costed about 800 dollars and all you could play was PONG. Its crazy but thats how everything works.
