So I installed a new HDD, and now I want to move my OS (win7) to a bigger partition on the new HDD.

I've already tried Shadow Copy, but it tells me to check task manager, to see it vssvc.exe is running, which it isn't, and I can't make it run.

Any idea as to how I can go about this, and still have all my programs work?

[QUOTE="Recontrooper"]I would go with the illusion personally because I'm not a big fan of coolmaster, IMO it just seems the antec 300 gives you the most for your money while with the cm 690 doesn't.Marfoo
How can you even compare the two, the Cooler Master gives you WAY more for your money. It has more fan capacity (I have 3 intake fans and 3 exhaust fans! With the regular panel you can have up to seven!). The HDD bays are superior, sideways mounted trays with vibration reducing mounts. The CM690 is raised and has vents at the bottom for intake with an additional fan and has a dedicated vent for the powersupply. Large rubber feet to further reduce vibration. Space in the back for cable management! There are screw holder inside for all your spare screws! The list goes on, the CM 690 has amazing features for the price!

And it looks amazing. But the front panel feels incredible fragile when you have to pull it off. But that's most likely only something you'll end up doing twice in all the time you have it.

[QUOTE="Antisimal"]I was "forced" the side panel window. I actually wanted it without it, and there was no indication on the box, that it came with the window panel. But what can you do? And I'm warming up to it.Marfoo
They sell them with the window preinstalled now? Lol, if we would've known eachother sooner I could've shipped you my regular panel and you could've shipped me your window! lol.

Apparently they do. It was the last one the shop had anyways, so it's not like I could go back and get another xD It would probably cost more to ship it, than to just buy a new.

I have the CM 690 and I love it!

But... the cable holders aren't too good. One of them blocks two of the SATA ports on my MoBo, and another is in the way of my GPU, os I had to cut it off.

And the toolless clamps that are supposed to support the GPU and other PCIe cards did not fit on my GTX 275.

I had to cut those down as well. And the "multimedia panel" is on the top, so if you're gonna use them a lot, you don't want it to be under a desk.

But other than that, it's a great case, that's looks gorgeous, and and it fits my stuff.

And as the guy above me said, it's pretty damn cold to sit next to it.

My old Pentium 4 computer turned my room into an oven, but this thing is like an AC.

When I insert the windows 7 disk, the installation doesn't show the HDD that wasn't formated the first time, and it doesn't give me the option to format the HDD it can see.

And as I said before, I can't go through disk manager, cause it doesn't load, just says connecting to virtual disk service, and then nothing.

But device manager shows the HDD, and that it has the latest drivers.

It doesn't.

It shows under disk drives in device manager, but not under my computer.

When I was installing Windows 7, I was stupid enough to only format the HDD I installed Windows on, but not the other.

And since the Virtual Disk Service doesn't seem to work, I can't format the other.

So, I'm running Windows 7, and when I try and open disk management so I can install a HDD, it just says "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service" and does nothing else.

I've tried what I could, from the answers google gave me, but nothing changes, except it says "Unable to connect to Virtual Disk" until I restart my computer.

Now, is there a program that'll let me do the same things, as the disk manager that comes with Windows 7?

Hey, when I tell my computer to shut down, it shuts down everything, except for the motherboard.

It's a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 and the power button on it is still emittting light, as well as the help light on the back of the I/O plate.

It's really annoying, since it lights up the room, but I also have it set in a power saving connection box, so when the computer shuts down, so should the monitor and the sound system, but since the motherboard still seems to draw power, they don't shut down either.

Anybody have an idea on how to actually make it shut down completely?
