My rank became Phoenix Dawn yesterday. The "Phoenix" part sounds cool, but the "Dawn" part doesn't sound like it's a rank for a person?

Nothing much going on in the otome gaming world from what I can tell :p I don't look at many gaming sites anyway.

In Oukyuu Yasoukyoku I got Rodel...but meh. I think his story was a little shallow. I think he should have had a big fight with his dad over the princess or something. Not much dramorz in his story, really. Or maybe I didn't do well enough to unlock all the dramorz? But I got the Fin ending...which I assume is the good ending? So I'm going for Astrud now...since I already saw a lot of his plot when I tried to make him and Sieg get jealous...I couldn't do it. Maybe Cain is the only one who gets jealous? I still think Liou is going to have the most interesting arc :)

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I think it's wierd how in Oukyuu Edgar wears red and Cain, the crown prince, wears indigo. In a lot of countries indigo is only worn by common folk and never by royalty. I know for sure this was a fact in Japan (I thought this was true of England, but I guess blue was royal in medieval England. Oh, blue dyed with indigo was royal, but blue dyed with woad was commoner). Indigo is a cheap, long lasting dye. Bright red was a very difficult color. It came from carmine (a tiny bug; this was in Europe) and Safflower (in Asia; at one time in Japan this dye was so expensive that farms had to be armed and guarded!). It's interesting to note that purple could only be worn by royalty in Japan...and was also a color associated with royalty in Europe. Purple dye came from Murex snails... so I guess Cain's blue must be indigo? But his outfit looks a lot less fancy than Edgar's? I just think that's wierd. The princess's dress is a lot plainer than Cossette's, too...

Ijiwaru my Master is out in 2 days! *squee* It'll probably get here next week for me. I don't think I'll be done with Oukyuu by then, though *tear*

I always wondered why the chara in otome games wore such wierd clothes...and I think I figured out an answer. They can't wear modern, "real" clothes because they the game would get outdated soon. Since they are wearing really wierd clothes, the game doesn't really have a sense of time in it and so it'll be "current" longer :)
