I have been with a friend to the TV and Comics show in Earls court 2 in London last weekend and it was really interesting.
I would have never imagined that such a world exists where one can meet the likes of Scott Bakula and get an autograph. Of course one has to queue and pay 25 pounds (Not ready to do that yet) but for a mere 5 GBP one can see the likes of him from a distance. Funny thing is that there were also actors such as Jason Kogan (he plays Spock as a child in Star trek the film) and Jake Lloyd whho played Anakin Skywalker in Star wars 1 (now well beyond his childhood) or the actor that played Terminator 1 and 2. So I wondered who much money they make out of such conventions...some money for sure or?
My friend was there to report on the Twilight actors on her fan blog and the twilight italian fan site so I managed to pass of as a press person and sit on the floor watching people asking questions to the likes of Justin Chon by not so much screaming women, teen-agers and children.
Madness apart for me the best part was the ANIME section where I found some interesting gadgets and much to my surprise the presence of Chris Achilleos, an artist I like very much and that I could meet in person. There was also a section of the fair for cos play (the best event of the all convetion imho) and a part with computers and arcade games *** inspired. The best was to look at people playing Rock band (never played that one but it looks like fun) or the dance dance revolution.
I will definitively go next summer to the convention and yes I will bring my camera and maybe also dress up...
