I wouldn't be the most appropriate person to give you an answer, but I would like to know why your room-mate went for the 3570k over the 3550? I am in the process of building a system as well, sorry if my comment is inappropriate.
I started ME1 again, and again I have no sound in my computer, except for League of Legends and Windows test sounds (well, League of Legends actual in-game sound, the client has no sound aswell).
Fixed, I can get sound everywhere in my PC now, besides ME1 cutscene non-dialogue sound that is. A Malware program found a Trojan in one of my Creative .dll so I reinstalled the drivers at it works now. Thank you.
So, in ME1 (Steam Version) I can't get any cutscene sounds at all. This has been going on since I purchased the game a few years ago but you know now with ME3 and everything I installed it again. Not a real problem, but I noticed when ME1 was running, if I Alt-Tabbed out, the 2nd application I would be in had no sound at all. Again, strange, but closing ME fixed it. Now you ask? ME1 is the only app in my computer that has sound. Needless to say I need help. EDIT: I do get audio from cutscenes as in dialogue, but shooting and all that no-go. Also couldn't hear Sovereign in Virmire, or the explosions he triggered after, but dialogue was otherwise fine.
Thanks for all replies so far, is this a good P67 board? Just because I have never heard of it's brand http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P67%20Pro3%20SE&cat=Specifications
So I am planning to build GIGABYTE GA-P61-USB3-B3 I7 2600k Antec Twelve Hundred 4GB DDR3 GSkill 1333 Mhz Corsair Gaming Series 800W WD 2TB Caviar Green (would like to use my current 500GB drive as a secondary if possible) Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio I am planning to buy the GPU first, I just don't know what brand is the best to get the 7970 for, or if the planned build is ok. Thanks in advance.
