Ah Counterstrike... how thee ruined my childhood. Yet, I'm so happy it did. CS was (is) one of my favorite games of all time. It's a damn shame that CoD has taken over the FPS field in the way it has... such a terrible loss of originality since the first one, which imo, was the best one. At least BF3 made an attempt at a revision of the way FPS games are going. However, nothing, in my mind, can beat CS.
There are some that are completely missing my point. This website, from what I've gathered over the years, is to give as unbiased a review on any peripheral, game, or console that is currently on the market. This particular 'op-ed', which was allowed to be shown on Gamespot (which should say something in and of itself), has further driven me to believe that Gamespot is doing anything in it's power to deride Sony. Yes, it's the authors opinion, but it's shown on a website where, again from what I've gathered, opinions are not biased and judge the quality and merits of some piece of gaming equipment. I don't know where people are getting this 'blind loyalty' from, but what I'm arguing is that it's sad to see GameSpot allow such an opinion based piece on an issue where they clearly are taking advantage of the situation. Obviously, AGAIN, Sony messed up, but I prefer facts to opinions on a website of this caliber.
An entire article dedicated to bashing PS3... now I fully understand the lengths that Gamespot will go to deride Sony. I understand that Sony has messed up, but to write an entire article literally criticizing Sony for being attacked? Come on now, is this necessary? Yea, they are at LEAST visibly responsible for this, but if the same thing happened to Xbox I'd like to see an editorial piece being posted by the GameSpot employees criticizing them. I'm not fanboy, but over the course of the past few years I've seen a definitive trend of Gamespot to constantly sway towards Microsoft and Xbox. This thoroughly proves it in my opinion.
I have to agree with Viper on this one to a certain degree. Although Blizzard has become a LOT bigger since WoW, they have never taken on more than 1 or 2 projects at a time. Now I'm not saying that Blizzard will do a bad job releasing these games, it'll just be more of a hassle for them to do so. That said, I have high expectations though that Blizzard will do a bang up job.
The performance overall on these things are amazing, and when the prices drop I'll be getting one for my next desktop, (probably a year or two) and by then they'll be a standardized option... hopefully.
By far one of the greatest games ever created. I fully support it's induction into the Greatest Games of All Time. Not many games can be credited for making an entire genre.
